IVF - possible to fall pregnant before egg collection?

Hi everyone
I'm new on here so a little bit about me:
We've been trying to concieve for about 5 years and just started our second attempt at IVF. Trying not to get too tied up in thinking too much about every stage (as I'm sure anyone in the same situation can appreciate - I don't want this to overshadow everything else in my life!). However, I have a question that hopefully someone can answer: is it possible to fall pregnant in between starting the course of FSH (Puregon) and egg collection? It's been a subject of debate between myself and my partner this morning

I think so yes - this is why you use a barrier method during stimming as otherwise you could get pregnant with multiples!

You shouldn't, because the downregulation should mean you don't get the natural ovulaton trigger....so the eggs should stay nice and safe inside you ovaries. The late night hCG injection is the trigger for ovulation (40 hours later, which is why your egg collection is planned for 36 hours, and the timing is so important). This also ripens the eggs ready to be fertilised.

You need to use barrier methods for a couple of reasons - first in case your own hormones do break through and you ovulate on your own (very rare if you take all the medication as you are instructed) and secondly, because the tricky little swimmers can stick around for up to 5 days after the deed, and could therefore be waiting to pounce on any stray eggs missed by the egg collection!
