Any advice on TTC after Mirena coil?

Have appt to have Mirena removed, after 14 months, next Monday. DH and I have decided to TTC DC3.

Have never had a bleed with Mirena, just two incidents of brown spotting about 4 months apart.

Know some friends who have had regular bleeds, and some who have never had anything at all.

Does anyone know how long it will take for my fertility to return after my coil is removed?

Thanks

It varies person to person, but IME don't feel too disheartened if it takes a while to get back to normal.

I'm still not back to normal and mine was removed about 7 months ago.

Though I believe others have adjusted very quickly.

I had mine out almost a month ago after 3 years. My doc said the hormones are out of your system after 24 hours, to use protection until you have a period and then get on with ttc!

I had a light period two days later and then used opk's to help determine when I'd ovulate, which was around the standard time. I'm now on my 2ww and will be testing Saturday.

Also, the removal was a doddle!! Much better than when it was put in.

swizzlestar is spot on about the removal. It's way less unpleseant then having it put it. I started my period after not having any bleeding for 4 years a couple of weeks after removal, though it took a good 3-4 months for my periods to settle down to a regular pattern. As Kaloki says, it's differant for everyone so don't worry about it
