Has anyone had a BFP from the 2for£1 tests from The Pound Shop?

I'm TTC DC2 after 6 MCs (1 before DS, DS's twin and 4 after DS). I am now on CD34 of normal CD28 (6 days late) but still getting BFN. Last tested Sat morning and will POAS again today (Mon).
I've been using the 2 for £1 tests from The Pound Shop and am now wondering if they're far too cheap and therefore useless, or are they just as reliable as any other on the market?
Has anyone had experience one way or another? All advice/help appreciated.

I used these with no problems, DS is 18 months old.
A friend whose DD is 12 months old must have done about 10 of these and all were negative , even though she was convinced she was pregnant (6th pregnancy, 4th child) In the end she went to the local chemist for a free test which they do there and then.
It is free and confidential and the ladies are usually lovely.

I think it was on here at the time that there was a 'bad' batch. You could try a different shop, or the Asda cheapies just to make sure you get a different manufacturing run as it were.

And good luck

Thank you very much for your advice. I've lots of symptoms of pregnancy but unsure if that's real or just because I want it so badly! Will buy different test today.

Well I went out and got 2 CB digital tests so should know for def in the morning. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed! If it is a BFN then I'll go to drs as I know I def ovulated last month.
I too love to POAS missnevermind but hate the BFNs, especially the ambiguous BFNs.
Huge congratulations thesecondcoming. Do you know if it's a boy or girl? Do come back and let us know of baby's safe arrival.

Good luck for the morning bev2102...keep updated! :-)

Butterpie · 06/07/2010 00:15

I got BFPs twice from poundland 2 or 3 for £1 tests...two children sleeping in the next door room now :D

bev2102 · 06/07/2010 01:17

Thanks clarebear1 I'll post later this morning either way. I so hope I'm jumping up and down with excitement at 8am rather than booking drs appt!
I've now found out quite alot of people seem to get correct results from these tests only problem is it says on leaflet not to use until 7 days late. It'll be 7 days tomorrow but with DS I didn't get a very feint positive until I was 6 weeks pregnant (and that was with twins!). If it's a BFN then I guess there's still a chance but will go to drs to be sure. Other than that I guess I'll just have to wait and see (absolute torture!).

Any news?

bev2102 · 06/07/2010 12:37

Another BFN! DHs making me a drs appt. I'm so confused and disheartened!

Did u get a doc app?

bev2102 · 08/07/2010 02:28

Yes, sorry Clarebear it's been one thing after another for past day or two so forgot to update this thread!
Well dr was very nice. None of the 'if you're pregnant, you're pregnant, wait and see' BS I got last time I was pregnant with BFNs. I've got to take an early morning sample in tomorrow to be sent to the hospital. Then should get results back either way Friday or Monday (praying it's Friday as Monday's too far away!).
She also gave me some ABs for a nasty abcess I've got - must be really run down!
To top it all though I snapped a tooth in half yesterday and can't get into dentist until 19th July! That's nearly two weeks. In the meantime I can't eat or drink properly and everytime I swallow my tooth grazes my tongue so my tongue's now really sore!!
TBH every day that passes becomes more and more unlikely that I'm actually pregnant. I've still got all the symptoms and no sign of AF so will keep on Pregnacare just incase. Also dr gave me ABs suitable for use in pregnancy.
Will let you know if anything changes. Thanks for asking x

Oh dear, its all happening for you isnt it :-( Being run down and stressed isnt gonna help to conceive either id imagine.
19th July, thats rediculous!!
Sending big hugs to you x

bev2102 · 09/07/2010 01:01

If it's not one thing it's another. Never mind it can only make me a stronger person in the end. I'll let you know when I get the drs PT back tomorrow or Mon but TBH I'm pretty sure it's going to be BFN now. I'm going to buy some CB ovulation predictor kits so that I don't have to guess ovulation (and to give DH a rest!! Lol). Just unsure when to start them with no AF this month and I don't want to wait until next month to TTC again.

Hope you're ok x

Hi Clarebear1,
Well I convinced myself I'm definitely not pregnant even though symptoms are all still very much there. I'm so glad I did as got results back from drs today and it was a bfn. Only good thing was that I got the results now and not Monday as the not knowing is much worse.
So now the next round begins with lots of BDing until either AF or BFP arrives. The schedule DH and I have decided on is minimum of once a day until AF (or BFP) then when AF finishes (if no BFP in the meantime) it'll start all over again. That way there's no need to check for EWCM and no need to buy expensive OPKs or 'guessing' when OV occurs.
Surprisingly I feel quite upbeat now that I know for certain. As I said before it's all the uncertainty that's worse.
Thanks for keeping in touch. Hopefully I'll soon be posting a BFP .
All the best xxx

Well at least I now know for sure. 12 days late and AF finally shows! I'm happy though as at least I know where I stand!

Aww thats a shame, yeh a good thing is that you can stop wrecking ur brain about it now, well until next month anyway... x

I really need to learn these acronyms!
