This has probably been done before, so bear with me. I am not due my period until Friday, but just have a feeling, so have done a cheap Asda test yesteday afternoon and got a very faint positive line. I plan on wating another couple of days and retesting, but, could this be accurate or is it too early.

I got a + 4 days before period due on both dds. We were TTC and I was keeping track of dates and definitely got a BFP that early both times.

Tested with a Clearblue Digital the first time round and cheap Tesco one the second time.

Best of luck.

8-10 days post ovulation or a couple days before period due.

Meant to add I think I might have high hormone levels in pregnancy or something though as I had hyperemesis both times.

Blimey that was quick, the instructions did say it can in some cases pick up a + four days early but by my v dodgy maths i tested 6 days early so just thought it was me being overly hopeful. Unfortunately I had a miscarrage at 13 weeks with twins in December, so am now panicking.

Thanks for your replies.

A test, barring rare circumstances detailed on the instructions, only shows positive if it is picking up hcg. You only produce hcg when pregnant (apart from in those rare circumstances mentioned).

The number of days before your period is a bit of a red herring as it depends when you ovulate. So, I had a positive test at 9 days after I ovulated, but my period wasn't due for another 7 days. That's just my cycle. If you had only 10 days between ovulation and your period, testing 4 days early would be pointless.

ATM, you are pregnant. I would wait and see what happens in terms of your period arriving because (and I am kicking myself for having to say it), early testing also picks up chemical pregnancies (where the egg fertilises and hcg is produced but it doesn't implant and you bleed as normal). We know now how common this is because of early testing.

I do hope this works out for you and I'm so very sorry to hear about your miscarriage.
