The Faint Pink Line...

Hi, I've been TTC for a while now and had assumed this month wasn't a success again as I had a pg test at the GP's a week ago that was negative. She was checking whether I was pg before giving me travel jabs. As it turned out the ones I needed are pg-friendly anyway but we just thought we'd check to be sure and it was a no.

Since then I've been feeling tired and queasy, have very sore breasts and no sign of AF (due on Saturday) so I tested this morning with First Response and there were two lines but one of them was about half as faint as the other. My DH thought it was a definite positive but I'm not so sure...? I'm on antibiotics for cystitis at the moment (pg-friendly ones) so am wondering whether that is causing the nausea and tiredness instead so maybe it's a false positive?? I think I'll test again in a few days' time when I'm off the antibiotics but what do you all think? Could it be a yes? I'm finding it hard to get excited because I've been disappointed before, although have never had a second line before, not even a faint one. I'm at day 42 now and would normally get AF any day from 35-39.

Seriously?? Thank you Glastonbury Goddess! I kind of can't believe it to be honest... if I had another pg test I'd take it to check again but am at work now (shouldn't really be posting on here but suspense was killing me and felt a desperate need for some MN wisdom...)

HCG doubles roughly every 48 hours so if you want to do another test wait till thurs/fri and the line should be darker than todays

A line is a line!! Congratulations !!

When I had my daughter I got a bfn one day, a faint line the next and a baby 9 months later lol.

Thanks, swizzlestar - here's hoping I get the same result in nine months time! I think I'll test again in a couple of days (if I can stand the suspense...)

You're pregnant. The test line is very often fainter than the control line. Means nothing. A line is a line is a line.

False positives are very, very rare.
