Could I ask a really stupid question please?

Am embarrasingly stupid when it comes to conception/ ovulation etc..

Just a ponder really, Highly, highly unlikely Im pregnant, I wrote my last date (of period) down in notebook, then lost notebook but am pretty sure Im due this week at some stage. Am crippled with period pains the last few days - really bad today so expecting them any second.

Feeling a little odd, tired and sick but that could be for any reason. Was cleaning and came across sticks in drawer, dont know why but pee'd on an ovulation stick (have loads from ttc ds), anyway, I know there is a possibility these can detect pregnancy (although obviously not as accurate as HPT)and both lines are equally as dark as eachother - this is around the first day of my period (although not here yet), I never used these before and dont fully understand them - could that be right? thought one line should definately be lighter if this is beginning of my cycle?

its possible to have a secondary surge of LH around the time of your period, so that could be the reason for the dark test line. But then again, it could be that you are pregnant, as OPK's will normally detect both LH and HCG. The only way to be sure is if you get your period (and even thats not 100%, ask my mum!) or do a pregnancy test. If you dont want to pay a fortune you can get a 3 pack for about 2 quid at wilkos, or other cheapie shops.

I had a +ve OPK once on about CD28 and my period arrived the following day. I was a bit , but it must've been a secondary LH surge as faddle says. I did kid myself for several hours though!

Am usually very good at keeping track of totm but found notebook and didnt write last months in!!! doh! am driving myself mad trying to think of when I had them last. From what I worked out Im either 4 days late or not due til next week but have awful period pains. Hmm.. always have 27 day cycle but could be a little messed up as ds is just 5 months old...

you need to do a pregnancy test I think, as the ovulation tests are not testing for the same hormone. good luck.
