Just need to have a silent wail and moan. Been TTC again for a year. DD, now 2.3, came along without much effort, but number 2 is a whole different matter. I am of course so grateful to have DD, and to have been able to have her naturally, but am now about to be 40 so feeling like time is running out. Feeling especially sorry for myself today as yet another person I know has announced she is pregnant with her second. We've been trying so hard too and I am just bloody knackered with it all.

I would seek advice from your GP; secondary subfertility is not that uncommon at all.

The GP may or may not decide to do some tests before a referral; either way I would seek medical advice sooner rather than later.

Thanks Attila. Went to see GP 4 months ago and had ovulation blood test and was told I was ovulating fine. DP needs to get his bits and bobs checked out tho'. At my age, fertility treatment is not available on the NHS where we live even if we wanted to go down that route - which we don't. I am just feeling very down today, will no doubt bounce back in the next few days, but its so hard when you get other folks good news on your bad day.

Hi Soupmaker, I can sympathise with you. My DD is 3 and we have been trying to TTC#2 since she was 1. She was easy to get pregnant with too.
CD1 is awful I get incredibly depressed, and quite frankly I am shagging more than I ever have before, or ever wanted to. This month we are going to shag less and just on days around ovulation to see if that helps as neither of us are up to it.
All my friends have had their number 2 or are pregnant, I find it hard to see them at certain times in my cycle - ridiculous but true. I tend to feel better after CD4 as it is only about 10 days til I get my hopes up again so I really understand what you are going through.
Treat yourself to something nice to take your mind off it, you will feel better in a few days.
Also, we have set a date for giving up TTC, I find that helps as after that I am going to get a dog and move on!

Hello KaraTrace. It's just so exhausting having to deal with loads of comments about when we are having the next one and about me having to get a move on. Mind you a wee glass of red wine has made me feel a lot better tonight. I so know what you mean about seeing people at certain times, I tend to be really rubbish for CD 26-27 I always know AF is on the way, and then very low for a few days. Always perk up tho'. We're giving it another 12 months and then that's that. Good luck to you.
