How many HPTs do you get through each month of TTC?

Just POAS 3 times in last 4 days. All BFNs

I know I'm not the only one who gets obsessed- thank God for eBay cheapies or I'd have spent over £15 by now, on this month alone!

Just wondering if there are any other out there who impatiently use HPTs every day every other day during the last half of the 2ww? And even more if AF isn't on time!

I think the most HPTs I've used in a month has been 8 before finally accepting the answer. Just wondering how many HPTs other woman who are TTC go through each month?

I ask this partially out of genuine curiosity, and partially to convince myself I'm not alone in doing this. Personally, it's not only the ritual that hooks me in, it's the emotional rollercoaster it puts you on. Every time is so intense... the hoping... the impatience... the squinting at the imaginary line...

It depends. Some months I'm absolutely obsessive, others I'm not too bothered. When I found out I was pregnant with DS I managed to hold off until AF was late with very little effort - but I think that was because I knew I was pg IYSWIM. When I don't think I am it's harder not to try and see a BFP...!

When I started TTC I decided I would test only once a month so I didn't get obsessive. I have PCOS so have very irregular periods. I came off the pill, had a period, then the next month tested when period was late and carried on doing it at the same time each month unless I had had a period that month. Otherwise I would have probably spent an absolute fortune testing every couple of days and not been able to deal with the disappointment and emotional rollercoaster ride all the time.

5 a day from 8 days p.o/6 days before due! Until af arrived. For 25 cycles first time! Thank goodness for ebay/access diagnostic 20p dip tests!!!!! Probably a whole pack of ten dips + 2 x 2 pack of cheap boots own and a clear blue digi when I finally got that 'hold it up to the window' faint line!!!!

and incidentally...I've spent so long testing I still do a cheap dip every month even though Im not ttc!!! just to check incase there is an accidental no 3!!!!

This thread has made me giggle. I could very easily test continually!

loopylou2 I ran out of tests on Monday (I reckon I had already used 6 or 7 this cycle), then on Tuesday a new batch of 15 came. I have 5 left (I made DH do one as a control!), and have done 2 Clear Blue digitals and a First Response too. I'm currently holding my pee in for another!

In my defence I got a faint line on Weds, totally believed I was pregnant for a day, then got four BFNs (the Clear Blues and two of the same type I got the line on). Today I did two identical tests at the same time - one with a faint line, the other without. Had a blood test, did a FRER (BFN).

I don't know whether this is justification to keep testing until I get a BFP or AF arrives, or whether it is certification that I am going off my rocker ...
