I often feel i dont belong on the other ttc threads. I get pg quite easily (although it appears to be diminishing now) but mc at 5-6w. just long enough to know im pg and allow myself to get excited but not long enough for most people (and by that I mean doctors) to understand why Im so upset. thought I'd start a thread for sufferers of 3 mc's or more to support through the pain of ttc and the mixed feelings about a bfp right through.

Hi,

I am in this category categorically now!
I am currently pregnant (at the horrible trying not to get excited yet phase, of 5w3d) and previously had 8 m/c (two chem pregnancies, the others varied from 5 to 11 weeks)

This time I am trying the "laid back relaxed" approach and just trying to let the next few weeks drift pass me.

I have met quite a few here on mn recently that are in the Recurrent m/c category. So I hope a few of the others will come an join in here.

LOTGK -It's an excuse, not a good one, but I will allow it!!!
Looks like most recurrent m/c-er's are on the miscarriage thread, I don't like going there while pg, am I wierd or what! how are you doing?

Anyway 6weeks today, and ho-hum, looking around trying not to think about it. I have not told many people yet, not even some of my mn friends here (although if they look here they will know !) Another couple of weeks and I will know a bit more.

mumatron,- have you ventured onto the pg boards yet or still lurking here?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 24/06/2010 14:47

i know what you mean. I cant use the other threads. i feel like im curseed sometimes and am often the harbringer of doom!

OK do you want a laugh....????? I have just been to look at my medical notes, and I have got a copy of the letter from my last infamous recurrent miscarriage appointment (as I recounted on the hut thread). Well the letter to my gp includes a couple of great sentances.....

  1. "I acknowledge the fact that has had 7-8 miscarriages and background history suggestive of a recurrent miscarriage" !!!!!!!! can you make sense of that sentance

and

  1. "Earlier investigations such at thrombophilia and other recurent miscarriage investigations have been negative. However the last ERPC was suggestive of products of conception from histology......." really - the Evacuation and Removal of Products of Conceptions was suggestive of products of conceptions........ wow that is a shock .

Well at least my letter of complaint will give the hospital a chance to tell the doctor to not only improve his patient skills but also his letter writing skills too!.

AND now I have his name, I will be able to insist on never seeing him again!

On the not so funny side, I did in fact confirm that there was no pelvic ultrasound report, that I had told the doc that I was there to get the results of. So noone has reviewed the ultrasound report.

I also found the report "No specemin recieved on 30/6/09 unable to process add-on request for TFT." That is a bit strange as I specifically asked for thyroid function tests as thyroid issues are in my family. And the nurse at a later appointment told me the thyroid results were all normal

Also a couple of the tests indicate that I don't have a blood clotting issue but the tests all point towards a possible inflammitory condition instead, such as rhumatoid athritis (that runs in my family) - would explain my stiff finger joints in the mornings..... Anyhow I digress.

The simple situation is that my tests show nothing, but the doctors incompetance shows greatly! Oh well, what more can anyone expect!

So long story hope that the first bit gave you a couple of laughs.

omg, they are sooo crap! reminds me of the notes in my records after my ep saying that my right tube had been removed along with PoC via laproscopy, followed by a laparotomy to stem bleeding sited at the bladder which was misplaced during previous CS.

it was my left tube. I should know!

how are you lovey?

I am doing ok, actually seeing for myself the rubbish in the chart actually helped! Had a brief thoughts that I should be back on asprin, but googling the results makes me think I am doing all I can and that I should just sit back, relax and wait to see what happens. I am calmer this time than the last couple of times, helped greatly by a distinct lack of symptoms!

more importantly - How are you doing?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 25/06/2010 19:55

glad you are doing ok. you begin to wonder if you are imagining it after a while dont you?

I am ok thanks. lil bro's wedding tomorrow which I am dreading but we go on hol on sunday which i cant wait for!!

well hello both, i thought this thread had disappeared!

how are you both?

rainbowdays im too scared to look at my hospital records. i have just been completely dismissed by my nhs cons. he sent a letter to us about dp's sperm test results and when the sperm guy saw the letter he was appalled. he said it was the most bullshit letter he had ever seen. made no sense.

tlotgk how are you doing? sorry if you have said, but did you have that consultant appointment?

i tend to stick to the mc boards tbh. not brave enough to post to much anywhere else. i do post on the due in dec thread a bit aswell.

rainbow i found it a bit easier to relax this time as i haven't had such extreme symptoms. normally i can't move for being sick etc.

even though i have made it to 4+2 i still can't relax and refuse to belive its happening. even though i am massive (pics on profile if you want a laugh)

mumatron · 25/06/2010 22:02

that should say 14+2

rainbowdays · 26/06/2010 01:21

mumatron - cute pictures, and yes you do look a little big! I know what you mean about refusing to believe it is happening. After my 1st m/c I got preg immediately with ds2, thoughtout most of that pregnancy I was convinced things would go wrong. Even at 33 weeks ended up being on labour ward with prem contractions and warned that things could go wrong still. But the little tike arrived at week 39 so fast he was born at home, I don't think it really hit me that he was ok and staying until he was about 2 weeks old !!! Anyway hope that things start to become more real to you soon.

lotgk - hope you survive the wedding and have a great holiday - are you going somewhere nice?
