Did I test too early

I am new to this site but have read countless threads on this and other ones. DH and I are trying for baby 2 age 40. Baby 1 was conceived first go at 37. This is our second month ttc and on cd 22 - couldn't wait and poas (had pink tinged discharge y'day) which was --. Probably too early but a bit down cos everything you read is so negative about ttc at this age. I feel and look (so I'm told) 10 years younger and more importantly am in gd health so who says we shouldn't try? Anyway, what I see on these boards is a lot of heartache but also a lot of hope and support for everyone. I look forward to connecting with you all and send everyone plenty of baby dust in the meantime

possibly u did yes, how long is a 'normal' cycle? do U know when U ovualted?

Up until three months ago I was a very regular 28 day girl. Then two 26 day cycles and one 32 days. I think I ovulated on day 13 but haven't done any bbt's or anything like that yet. I will if it gets to that point.

There are lots of mums here who conceived in late 30's/early 40's, me included! Good luck with ttc. Maybe wait a few days and test again.

If you are fit and healthy then there is no reason why you wont concieve. Relax and have fun trying!

so only about 9DPO? - then probably yes I'd say so. try and wait over the w/e if u can.

Thanks for your support. I will wait (with difficulty) till next week and test again if AF doesn't show. Are any of you ttc now and if so for how long?

I was TTC for 14/15 months (can't fully remeber as DH was away for 6 months of it) am now thankfully 10 weeks PG.

if u try the aprilshowers thread a lot of the ladies are TTC or have been for sometime, they're a lovely bunch of gals. v supportive.

Hello! Munz, you there?? Got back from hols last week. Tried not to obsess about ttc since last posted and had brill. hols. Best of all did a poas test today and got big fat positive!!! If all goes well I'll be joining the "let's get fat for summer thread". Who says you should give up after 35 -no way!!! Best of luck to all of you trying out there.

Whats a poas test?

Don't know whether you got a positive for pregnancy or ovulation you see.....

poas is pee on a stick (or as the old benaie girls would say poat - pee on a tenner! lol)

er can everyone help, when exactly can i do a poas test, my period was early last week, i think but think im having pregnancy symptoms (might be brain playing tricks) but dh keeps saying to wait two weeks (seems like forever) when is the earliest really?

Stacey - I got a +ve about 9 days after DH and I did the deed! That was 5 days before my next AF was due....(30 day cycle) which is probably about the earliest it would show up.

my af isnt due for like 3 weeks, which really makes me think i might not be but had really funny symptoms (which i probably wouldnt have noticed if i wasnt thinking about it so its probably mind playing tricks on me) but im hopeful!

Staceym11 - Unless you ovulated rrrrreally early in your cycle I'd say it was unlikely you were pregnant already! Unless of course the AF last week was a bit lighter and shorter than usual? Then it might not have been an AF.

You usually ovulate between day 11-16 of your cycle (day 1 being the 1st day of you AF)..... then can't test for at least a week after that.
