Does this sound like a v early miscarriage or something else?

I know I should just test - will tomorrow - but I don't want to bother if it will be negative IYSWIM?

Started feeling sick on about day 15/16 of my cycle (felt sick straight away with other DC too), sickness worsened and I had some other symptoms so knew I was pregnant.

Sickness eased a bit and on day 22/23/24 had bleeding that was not as heavy as a period, but not that far off.I felt v tired and quite sick too. Then bleeding stopped abruptly. I assumed a very early miscarriage, but now (day 28) I still feel a bit sick. But I guess it could be gastro? Or just hormones sorting themselves out again?

Thoughts?
TIA

You can have an implantation bleed - I suggest you both test using a home pregnancy test and get the doc to have a look at you.

My implantation bleed came the day before my period was due, lasted 3 days + was slightly lighter than my period. I only did a test because my breasts were still tender afterwards. I think it's worth a test - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for those thoughts. I will test - still haven't managed as we've had a nieces birthday party and another niece born today Not sure whether to ask for crossed fingers or not tbh - this would be an unplanned (though not unwelcome) DC4!

Yes, my bleed lasted 3 days and I thought it was a period. I'm now holding my 9 week old daughter. How long is your cycle normally? Think you need to stop thinking and do a test!

I had two very early miscarriages. Both were very heavy bleeds (much more than a normal period), with content clearly indicating miscarriage, and both pretty painful.
I would lean towards your 'not quite as heavy as a period' bleed being implanation.

Test and KUP!

Good luck!

oh heck. I have the test, I'll let you know. eeeeek!

negative. Relief, but a little disapointment too I must confess.

I still feel sick though, and knackered, so I guess it was a v early mc and my body is still sorting itself out. or gastro.

I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you're not too disappointed.

Astrophe · 16/06/2010 00:31

thanks happyseven. Last week I was sure it was a mc (before the sickness lingered, which is what made me doubt it), so I was quite sad then, and am pretty ok now, although its not the outome I wanted of course. We will ttc number 4 in about a year I think, DC3 is only 10 months, so the timing was not very good and it was onbviously not mean to be.
