I have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter and am really hoping for it to happen soon so they are not far apart.
When i had all my scans on my last pregnancy in jan/feb this year i was told i have cysts on each side but they didnt say no more.

Can this affect me ttc?????

anyone any tips on getting pregnant. I was signed off wrk as soon as i found out i was pregnant last time due to my history but i still lost the baby.
Is it true some ladys can only carry one sex???

Hi charlii I'm really sorry to read of your losses, it must be very difficult to deal with the ongoning disappointment. It sounds as though you've had three miscarriages in a row, is that right? Has your GP referred you for any specialist investigation for reccurrent mc?

decafgirl · 06/06/2010 09:09

Charlii there's a mc support thread on here you could look into, the ladies are all a friendly bunch and have lots of different experiences to share. Hope you get the help you need x

Hi charlii, I'm in a similar situation to you (have had 2 miscarriages this year after a previous successful pregnancy). I agree that maybe you should go back to your gp and ask these questions and get them to refer you to a specialist if they haven't already done so. (I've made an appointment at my doctors for Monday to discuss my own situation).

Best wishes and good luck.

You should be referred by your GP to a specialist centre that specialises in recurrent miscarriages. Infact I would return to the GP and insist you are referred asap.

I wish to goodness these people who did your previous scan back in January had told you more about the cysts on each side!. Never be afraid either to ask questions. What they may have been referring to here is the cystic follicles on each of your ovaries; they could be polycystic. The causes of miscarriage are not fully understood but this may be a factor.

Hi Charlii

I have had seven miscarriages in a row now, previously I had three children and another miscarriage. I have found the folks on the miscarriage thread here very helpful and caring.

I like many have been through all the tests to find "nothing" wrong, but others do find causes for there miscarriages and get help for it. Others like me just keep on trying to see if we can get the golden egg and produce a baby at some point.

Cysts are normally no problem, occasionally women have polycystic ovaries, and these can cause problems concieving. Some people also claim PCOS can cause miscarriages but I don't think this link is proven.

As for the genetics - yes some couples have genetic makeups that can make them incompatible and lead to certain genetic problems and this can be sex-linked. However a simple blood test from you and your dh can look at your genetics to see if you are compatible or not. This is one of the many tests we were given despite us having two sons and a daughter already!

Many miscarriages are just purely random in their cause.

I hope that if you go to look for help, that you get referred to a good recurrent miscarriage clinic to try to help.

Hi Charlli

So sorry to hear your story its all so depressing.

However it has compelled me to finally post as your story is similar mine and maybe we can share some experences.

My DD is 2 1/2 & we'd desperately like another but had one m/c oct 09 and another one feb 10. After my period in May i went to see doctor as my LMP was day 34 and my UCL is 28 and things didnt feel right after very heavy few days. After an internal she thought I might have had another.

Lucky I went to doc as she instigated blood tests & a scan, its quite relieving to get tests underway so basically Im where you are at. I'm also thinking the carrying one sex problem.....i think because its something I get my head around.

Re cysts - during one of my post m/c scans cysts were sited but the doc I spoke to said nothing to worry about as ususally get flushed out with next period - but worthing discussing if you are concerned - mine had certainly gone next scan.

Hope it goes well on Sat.

Think Im going to post some more questions on m/c thread page, now Ive got started!

hey purple,
thanks for your post! You sound just like me so i know what your goin through. We tried for 2 years to get pregnant with my dd who was born in jan08 and decided to start tring again quite soon after having her so when i found out i was pregnant with my first m/c in aug/sep 09 it was so upsetting that we lost the baby. Then for me to fall preg again so quick in nov/dec 09 we couldnt believe it but then again ended in m/c and had a scan on the 23rd dec to check everything had gone the said i had a small cyst but didnt say no more. I then to our suprise fell preg again very quick after and had to go for scans straight away which they then told me that there was a high risk of m/c due to the babys sac having a small amount of blood in. so i was signed off work for a month only for the pregnancy to end in feb 10. I then found out that the cyst had got alot bigger and also one on the other side but they still didnt say much so i only been gettin more worried.
I think that the one sex thing keeps going through my head as my daughters pregnancy was so simple and now i just cant carry any more.
