PCOS.... Still very much 'trying'

Anyone in my boat? PCOS - Trying for a year... Was overweight when first started- lost 22lbs and currently losing, although BMI still 29... Although still 2 stone to go I have bitten the bullet and made appointment with specialist as seem to be having anovulatory cycles (Length 32-48). It would be great if anyone has any experiences to share. Thanks.x

Keep going with the weight loss, I have PCOS and have only ever conceived when my weight was down with BMI around 26. I have quite symptomatic PCOS, weight gain, hairiness. My cycles were non existent from puberty until I conceived my first child (except for 2 28 day cycles when I had lost weight and then got pregnant), sporadic again then since I had my second I have had regular 28-30 day cycles! No idea why, my ovaries are still polycystic, my weight is far more than it should be too!

It took 2 years to conceive DD then about 17 mths with DS.

I was prescribed Clomid but never took it as found out I was pregnant 2 weeks later!

Good luck and don't give up.

Just found out I have an 'element of PCOS' and so just finding out about it really. I had already stopped drinking and a high GI diet sounds the thing. My consultant has prescribed me Metformin before a cycle of IVF. No idea what it is yet...
Does acupuncture help?

Hi Mrs J M and SE22. Thanks very much, it really helps to hear some positive PCOS stories. I will carry on with weight loss. SE22, i am planning to try acupunture. I'll let you know how it goes. How long have you been TTC? Good luck.x
