Just wanted to say thank you to all those people who recommended trying acupuncture while TTC. It seems to have worked! It's very early days yet but I have had a BFP and not started bleeding so I am very hopeful that this will be dc3. So thanks for all the advice I read on here!

Congratulations! Good to hear these things as I am ttc #3 too and have recently started accupuncture.

Could I ask how long you were trying and how long you did accupuncture for?

tadjennyp · 02/06/2010 22:59

Thanks haribofan. I was trying for about 6 months (barring the month I was in the UK and dh was in Taiwan!) and did acupuncture over 2 cycles. Best of luck!

Congratulations I had acupuncture while going through IVF and am sure it had a little something to do with my success too.

Hi all - what luck, a thread on acupunture! Had just been wanting to ask for some advice - know I could go to a more local thread but did any of you use someone good in central London? Am flexible within london but looking for a recommendation/suggestion (a bit TMI on internet sometimes!).
Really want to see someone to see if it can help me relax and maybe pinpoint why TTC#3 is taking so far 9 months with no luck.
Fab news for all of you who had good luck
I'm up for something relaxing to be honest...

coconutfeet · 03/06/2010 22:00

Congratulations tadjennyp!

whizzymummy - I go to this place. I was initially put off by the fact it's in Harley St as I thought it would be really expensive, but it's £45 a session. I know that's a lot, but it's not bad for central London.

Good luck!

tadjennyp · 03/06/2010 22:08

I don't know, I think 45quid a session is not bad, certainly less than I pay in America! I am one of the least relaxed people I know, so I am convinced that acupuncture really helped! Go for it whizzymummy!

Ah, fantastic news OP, congratulations..

I had acupuncture whilst going through ivf trying to conceive dd1. I am a TOTAL fan.

whizzymummy I saw Andrew Flower at White Crane Healing Centre which is in Primrose Hill - he also works in Brighton. I completely loved him and feel that he really helped me both physically, and emotionally.

Good luck xx

thank you!

tadjennyp, what I meant was that I had assumed that Harley St would be super-expensive but £45 is a good price for the service (I know of other people who pay £70 a session). However, for most people (including me) it's a lot of money to find each week/fortnight.

whizzymummy · 04/06/2010 22:15

Thanks for recommendations coconutfeet and ClaudiaSchiffer - makes the searching for someone good much easier
Am going to give it a go!

tadjennyp · 05/06/2010 03:44

I agree coconutfeet, I'm going to get a large bill in the post soon, but it's been worth it!

Just wanting to add a warning here as I searched for reviews of Andrew Flower before booking an appointment. He is rude and overpriced, and makes the whole process more stressful. When I went to see him, he had two patients in two rooms at the same time (for £75 a session!) and insisted on putting a needle THROUGH my clothes (not allowing for time to get undressed and relax) which left a scar in my stomach. Not worth the time or money.
