OK, So I am 25 and been married for 9 months, me and my hubby have been trying for a baby since Jan - with no luck so far.

I have been taking anti-depressants for 10 years or so and have just recently stopped taking them (without consulting doctor) as I was worried they may be preventing me becoming preganant.

I am not feeling depressed and am coping just fine off them - well, untill my period arrives that is!!

My periods have been regualr until this month. This month I felt sick, had awful cramps, my boobs grew a cup size and were agony! I had a brown discharge for 2 days 24th-26th May then it stopped, then I had a heavy period for 2 days 28th - 30th May then it stopped and now I am on my period again!!! what the hell is going on???

Has anyone got any tried and tested tips for becoming pregnant?
any vitamins worked for anyone?
does anyone swear by a sexual position?

Any help pls!!! xxx

LadyS

I would get this checked out medically as you are bleeding on and off quite often. Bleeding between periods should always be investigated to ascertain the cause. It is often not serious but it should be investigated all the same.

Sexual positions and vitamins don't have much effect on overall ttc. Would suggest you make love when you both feel like it and do not go down the route of timed intercouse. A visit to the GP would be in order due to the bleeding irregularities.

Not critising you at all for self stopping the ADs but I would inform your GP that you have stopped taking these all the same.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't think vitamins or sexual positions would make much of a diffence, but thought it would be best to check with some Mumsnet experts!!

I will visit my GP and find out whats going on!

Thanks Attila X

Hi Lady, am not sure if all the extras work but i certainly felt better while ttc DD.

I took the pregnacare, got DH on Zinc ( goos for the old swimmers ) and then the 2nd month got some ovulation prediction sticks and found out i ovulated day 16/17 and got pregnant that month and have a beautiful 18 m dd for it.

Am now ttc number 2 and have just finished my 1st proper period, so have the sticks at the ready for this month and keeping my fingers crossed

Are you charting? Can't recommend it enough! Come join us on Charter's Anonymous (and visit your GP)

Lady, it may be worth seeing your GP to discuss it further. I found mine fairly helpful. Then again we did spend much of the consultation discussing me coming off prozac and getting my coil out. That's hat they are there for though if, you need to discuss things such as the unexplained bleeding.

I have been charting on 'my days' and 'baby center.co.uk' but both give me different 'most fertile' dates.

i have an apt at the GP today. so we will see what they say! x
