I'm still having some trouble with these things. I've been TTC for three months now since I lost my baby at 21 weeks.
Last month I tried the clearblue OPK and never got a smiley face. This time I tried the cheap sticks from ebay and two days ago it went from an amlost invisible second line to just slighty weaker than the test line. I thought that might mean my surge was very close but after two days of the same result it's gone back to barely there again. I dragged my husband to the bedroom for those days anyway just in case that was my surge so keeping my fingers crossed.
Has anyone else had this result where it never gets as dark or darker than the test line but does alter a bit for a couple of days?

Sorry to hear of your loss. Have you been to your GP to get your blood tests to check your hormone levels? It's still relatively early since you lost your baby, your body may still be reeling. Do you have a good relationship with your GP? Go and have a chat with them.

I never got on with the cheap OPKs (all that is it or isn't it darker drove me crazy) so I used the clear blue digital at great expense (DD1 took 2 yr to conceive with a number of 1st tri losses). Used clear blue digi for DC2. The month I got pregnant I got a smiley face but my corresponding blood tests showed a progestrone level so low there's no way "officially" I could have ovulated or even been pregnant but I was and am currently 30 wks so just goes to show TTC is not an exact science and no person or stick has all the answers. If in doubt go for the every other day method. Good luck.

My hormone levels are back to normal. But my periods have been all over the shop for a few years now so I guess it's going to be harder to use these OPKs.
I did the EVERY day method for the first two months and my poor husband thought his manhood was going to drop off so your every other day advice sounds better.
I was like a crazy woman up until my last period came. I don't know what the shift has been mentally but I feel far less stressed about TTC. I suppose what happened hadn't properly sunk in.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. Hope it all goes well.
