Hi, new to the site and think I posted my question in the wrong section (blog not talk)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has had surgery for endometriosis at Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh? Who was your surgeon?.. What do you think of your treatment?..

I've been TTC#1 for 18 months and recently started getting severe mentrual cramps (to the point of vomit and almost passing out) followed by bad swollen and tender guts for a few days. GP suspects endometriosis and I was diagnosed with an endometrioma on my right ovary abbout 6 months ago. At the time I decided not to have surgery as the consultant told us they might end up taking the ovary with it and we are not good candidates for IVF (low AMH) so need the 2 ovaries. Plus at the time I had only minor endoemtriosis symptoms and I didn't realise how endometriosis can affect fertility (I should have done more research at the time!).

Anyway, sorry am rambling on a bit.. I'm trying to decide where might be the best place to have the surgery done in order to minmise any damage to my reproductive organs to give me the best chance of conceiving naturally.

Am already over 40 so clock is ticking fast and after looking about at some waiting times I'm thinking going private might be the best option.

I'd be really grateful for any thoughts from ladies who have been throught the same thing.

thanks
