PCOS and Endometriosis?

Good ladies of The Order of The Elusive Egg,

Has anyone been diagnosed with 'mild' PCOS (not very severe symptoms and one-sided PCOS image in scan) and then had the issue of Endo brought up?

After usual tests Gyn concluded I have PCOS but said a laparoscopy is necessary to look into the mild pain I experience mid-cycle.

Attila, if you don't mind, how was your diagnosis history? Endo and then PCOS?

Thanks! x

I have PCOS, on the 'mild' side, as in, few symptoms and often (not always) normal fertility. Haven't been diagnosed with Endo but it runs in the family and my cousin had both Endo and PCOS very badly. She still had 3 children following ovarian drilling and surgery for the Endo. They do often go together because they are both basically caused by endocrine imbalances.

Hi helloeggy,

Don't mind in the least if it helps someone else.

I was diagnosed with PCOS initially then endometriosis following laparoscopic type surgery to try and kickstart my cystic ovaries. This was successful and am now a parent but unfortunately PCOS and endo can recur.

Any other questions just ask

Thank you both very much, it looks like we are in the same situation.

I don't imagine NHS considers laparoscopy / ovarian drilling tremedously urgent, so I'll just sit and wait for the nice bit (parenthood in spite of it all!).

Thank you again for your generous support

Attila I had ovarian drilling done but doc said that post my first cycle progesterone reading of 0.9 that the surgery had failed.. what does that mean? Any thoughts?
