Quick question about OPKs and Clomid....

.....Can I use OPKs when taking Clomid, or does it mess up the readings?

This is the first month of Clomid and I'm desperate to know whether it's making me ovulate. If I can use them, any brands to try or avoid? I've seen them in the supermarket but unsure if they're any good.

Thanks

Do not use both together. I write that because clomid can increase LH levels and the opk reads LH levels (and could thus give you a false result).

BTW you should be monitored whilst on clomid anyway via blood tests and or ultrasounds to see if an egg is leaving the ovary. No monitoring is a no-no as you will not know if it is doing its job properly otherwise. Its main job is to work the ovaries harder.

Thanks for the advice. I've bought some anyway- horrified at the price I've read that as long as there is a gap of 3 or more days from taking the last Clomid tablet, it shouldn't affect the LH levels enough to change the result.

Attila, do you work in the medical field? I've noticed your advice on some of the other threads recently- you seem very 'clued up'.
