Another BFP after 3 days bleeding?

Hi, I got a BFP 6 days ago (through IVF), have just been bleeding for the past 3 days (fresh blood, medium flow), but did a test this morning which was positive and has moved to 2-3 weeks from 1-2 weeks (digital test). I don't want to get my hopes up, i know fresh blood isn't a good sign, but it is strange that the positive has moved on a week.
Anyone had a similar experience?

Hi. I bled from 5-8 weeks and it was all shades and ranged from spotting to a big gush while I was teaching a class of 14 year olds! I was not feeling very hopeful either. Saw my EPU at 7 weeks and everything was ok. DD was born healthy at full term. No reason for my bleed could be diagnosed. Try not to keep retesting as it probably won't make you feel much better. Ask for an early scan for some reassurance. Hope that helps a little. Take care and fingers crossed.x

Hi and tentative congratulations! I'm about to start IVF and have been reading the Zita West book. In it she gives a case study where the woman was initially pregnant with ivf twins (although didn't know it was twins at the time) but starting bleeding and thought the pregnancy had ended.

At the scan it turned out that she had miscarried one of the embryos but the other was absolutely fine and healthy.

Have your clinic been able to offer any advice?

I did not have IVF but did bleed at four weeks - I thought it was a heavier than normal, more painful period. It lasted a week more or less. I also bled at 15 and 26 weeks. DD was four a few weeks ago.

I have always kind of wondered if DD was a twin and it was a miscarriage of one twin. Guess I'll never know now.

raisins have you considered a twin pg or do you know there would be one embryo?

There could be any number of reasons for bleeding, contact your unit to be reassured.

I had IVF and also experienced bleeding at week 4; lots of fresh blood, more than my normal period. I was amazed when the 6 week scan showed a healthy embryo. My baby is now 2! Wishing you all the best.

Hi all, i did another digital test last night and although it was positive, it had gone back from 2-3 to 1-2 weeks pregnant, so I guess that's a no go. I'll do another test tomorrow to get a definite BFN but looks like my bleeding was definitely AF :-(

Sorry to hear that, pickledraisins. It's such a cruel process. Not wishing to give you false hope but are you testing at the same time of day? Let us know how you get on.
