Early symptoms - Real deal or flying glittery pigs?

Hello all! I've got a little query for those with that bfp or previous success at this ttc lark.

I've been ttc lite for a couple of months now, but this is my first month of seriously trying and the first time there's been a real chance of me having hit the jackpot.
I'm in the middle of my first real tww and trying not to think about things.
What I have learnt in the last week: pregnancy tests are a waste of time until the point when you'd be missing your AF anyway, and the only symptoms that may show up this early would be sore boobs, a bit of metallic taste, and weeing a bit more.

What I wanted to know is out of all you BFPers, was anything really different, or is it all in our heads?
Has anyone really had obvious symptoms before their missed AF, or are the majority of us first timers looking for an invisible needle in a haystack, or a stealth bun in the oven.

Thanks!!

I had my first tww and got a BFP on Wednesday. I did think I had noticed a few things, but to be honest they were all so slight that I don't think I would have noticed them if I hadn't been looking. They included the metallic tastes, tingly nipples and some mild cramping on 10dpo.

One thing that was a bit more concrete we my temps - they shot up and then kept on going up in my luteal phase - so this is something to think about if you want to have something more to go on.

Good luck!!

Seriously - for your own sanity and as someone who's been trying for three years - DO NOT SYMPTOM SPOT!!! I regularly get a metallic taste in my mouth - it's just the fact my teeth are rubbish and my dentist phobia's in full swing again, I can convince myself my boobs are sore till the cows come home (especially if I keep prodding 'em) etc etc etc.

Funnily the one month I did "catch" was the one I'd given up all hope whatsoever and was regarding the endless bonking as just going pointlessly though the motions (it didn't stick)... only difference then was that the sore boobs didn't go away the 2 days they usually did before AF was due.

To paraphrase that Sunscreen song from a few years ago (ok so a decade ago and that's depressing cos it was in the charts when I graduated uni)... "DO NOT GOOGLE PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS YOU WILL ONLY FEEL YOU'VE GOT 'EM!"

Thanks, thought that if the hormone couldn't show on a test before AF it'd be a bit daft looking for symptoms, but wanted to check as there's a bit of a spotting focus theme on the forums.
Hugs to you all, I shall calm down again now.

honestly, its a quagmire of uncertainty the certainty then bfn, month after month.

Never ever had sore boobs till i get pregnant...(Lots and lots of mcs)
well, about 4 months ago i started to have really sore bobs..then af arrived all cheerful and full blown 3 days late hmmmm

not pinning anything on any symptoms now.
Just waiting out the 28 days then testing, then testing again at 29, 30 & 31 days as i get bfn each time waiting for af to arrive.

My body plays very cruel trickes on me...or is it my mind???

When I was pregnant with my dd, first and only time, all the symptoms I had were exactly the same as I normally get leading up to AF...so it is pretty pointless symptom spotting (for me at least) as they could All equally point to either of the two possible outcomes...
