I ovulated on CD32 last month (not usual) it was a 47 day cycle. Looks like I'm about to ov again today or tomorrow and its CD33 today. It's rather depressing really as I thought I'd sorted my cycles out.

Is this month a one off for you? The body can delay ovulation for any kind of reason and it's also normal for a normal, healthy woman to have anovulatory cycles every once in a while. Good luck!

nicola are you getting any other fertile signs like ewcm or any ovulation type cramping? When did you start testing on the opks? Is there a chance you might have started testing too late?

I ovulated around day 29 last cycle and conceived. Unfortunately it didn't progress but am currently looking at ovulation around day 39/40 this cycle and hoping I get lucky again.

abroadandmisunderstood · 21/05/2010 22:33

I ov on day 21 of a 29 day cycle. Took me 11/2 years to work out I wasn't the day 14 ovulator. Best wishes, and keep checking for ewcm along with ANY twinges in your ovary area. I have two boys...finally!

Nicola - I'm ttc my second so have my lovely DS to remind me how very lucky I am already. Interestingly, I only just got a positive opk last night. I had pains and twinges in my ovary area on Wednesday accompanied by about three days of EWCM. Then, no EW-type CM (but still 'wet' if that's not TMI) for a couple of days and the +ve OPK yesterday. So my physical fertile symptoms seemed to have stopped a couple of days before my actual egg has hatched. If i ovulate today or tomorrow that'll make it day 44/45.

Is there anything that could have delayed your ovulation, like a cold or a little bug? I think I had a little cold virus about ten days ago which must have put things back a week or so with my body. Although the MC has probably thrown my hormones out too.

If you've not had a positive opk by now, I say keep going. You'll find out soon enough.

decafgirl · 24/05/2010 14:42

Hello again just wanted to add that there may be no reason that you can think of for delayed ov. Like I said, I've ov'd cd33 last cycle and cd34 this cycle. but am still hoping for a BFP out of it! I have no idea why my cycles have gone mad recently (other than to p me off!)

Pay close attention to your body and even if your body runs late you'll still be in with a good chance. Good luck.

PS) Hope you're well digi xxx

Nicola you'll get there! Try not to worry too much (easy advice to give), just believe that your body will ovulate when it's ready.

decafgirl [waves back] - been lurking on the feb bus to check out how you're doing as your cycles always seemed to parallel mine. Sounds like you've timed it right now, so yo're odds are looking good. Am a couple days behind you on the 2ww, it'll be rather a tense one for me as I've not had a proper period since the MC - but with my long cycles I'd be waiting ages for that (2 months as it's turned out).

decafgirl · 26/05/2010 21:57

It's so nice to know someone's looking out for me digi, thank you. We do always seem to be cycle buddies.

I was so upset to read about your mc but didn't want to be a crazy stalker intrude. Am pleased to hear you're ttc again & hope it all works out this time. Maybe we'll be antenatal buddies too xxxx

digitalgirl · 27/05/2010 21:59

Ante-natal buddies - let's hope decaf!

How's your 2ww going? I'm only 3dpo and it's already boring. Have had all sorts of weird cramps and odd sensations, but I think it's my because this is the first time I've ovulated since the mc.

I've been trying a low GI diet to try and bring my cycles shorter. But not sure it's done anything. I'm beginning to think that if you're meant to have long cycles then you'll always revert back to long cycles no matter what you do to influence them.

decafgirl · 29/05/2010 08:58

I really think that's true digi I'd managed to regulate my ridiculous, unpredictable cycles using the wellwoman vitamins but this is the 2nd in a row where I haven't ov'd until cd33/34 so maybe that's just what my body does (it doesn't make ttc any easier though!)

A close friend announced her second pg a couple of weeks ago so I'm now the last one left waiting for my second.

My 2ww is going ok so far, feeling quite bloated and crampy and my temps are quite high. Today is 7dpo so am hoping to start having some more symptoms in the next few days but I don't want to get my hopes up again IYSWIM.

Got my fingers crossed for you pet xxx
