Baby Asprin

Hello, I was hoping someone may be able to help me. Last year I had two very early MC's, one at 5.5 weeks and one at 4.5 weeks. As I'd been trying for a year I went to see a specialist who has sent me for scans and tests, but also suggested that I try taking baby asprin as it could help.

I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant (hurrah) but I'm unsure now whether I carry on with the asprin or stop. I phoned NHS Direct & they sat on the fence really, saying that there were not tests to say that it helped, they didn't think it would harm, but it would probably be best to come off if I didn't need it.

Has anyone else any experience in this? Any help gratefully received, thank you xx

Hi there

I don't have any experience of this myself but know someone who had 3 miscarriages at around the same time. She was told to take aspirin the next time she got pregnant as they thought the miscarriages could have been to do with the fact that her blood needed thinning. She took aspirin for the first few days after finding she was pregnant and is now on specific blood thinning drugs for the duration. I am no expert at all but if the specialist told you to try aspirin it could be for the same reason. I would try to speak to them asap to confirm what you should be doing. Good luck!

mrsfc i take low dose aspirin and have claxane shots daily. i have been advised to stay on until at least 13 weeks.

its really important you ask whoever prescribed the aspirin what they think.

good luck!
