Decidual bleeding?

Hey guys, I'm new here and was hoping for a bit of advice. Sorry if this is long!

Been TTC for a couple of months now, and so far nothing doing, but it is early days! But the last period I had was 3 days long at the most, probably more like 2 because the last day had hardly any blood at all. This is pretty weird for me cause my periods have never been less than 6 days long. It was pretty much like a normal period otherwise, although maybe more of a brown colour (?) - sorry if that's TMI.

I've been reading about decidual bleeding but I'm uncertain if that's what this is, obviously it's pretty rare so I know there's a good chance it may not be. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me of any experiences they've had with decidual bleeding, how long it lasts, how heavy it was, etc, and if anyone could think of anything else this could be?

Thanks!

I've never heard of decidual bleeding,is that implantation bleeding?Or when a woman has slight periods even though she's pregnant?I had slight bleeding (but not bright red "proper"blood) at the time my first period would have been due,and my friend had it then and a month later too.If you think you may be pregnant why not do a test?

TheDiceGirl · 11/05/2010 21:56

Yeah it's when some of the lining comes out in the form of a period, and around the same time your period is due. So I've read anyway.

I did do a test the other day but that was before the bleeding happened so it may have been too early as it was negative. I could do one again..

I've never heard of it but a quick google tells me it is getting something like a period when actually you're pregnant. But I would assume that if this were the case you have had a positive pregnancy test?

ClaireDeLoon · 11/05/2010 21:57

sorry cross posts

TheDiceGirl · 11/05/2010 21:58

Yeah that's what I thought, but my obsessive googling found a post from someone who had it saying she was told by the doctor to take a test a week after it had stopped. I'm probably just getting my hopes up though

If you aren't pregnant go and have some accupuncture to sort your cycle out,may well help you get pregnant too!

ClaireDeLoon · 11/05/2010 22:01

Hey getting your hopes up is completely normal when ttc, we've all been there! If you have a test in I would test tomorrow with first morning urine and see what it says. Hope it is a BFP for you!

TheDiceGirl · 11/05/2010 22:03

Ooh thanks, does acupuncture really help then? I've been debating that but wasn't sure if it would actually do anything.

ClaireDeLoon: thanks I don't have a test here but I may buy one first thing!
