No cycle day yet Storm i dont think, ive joined with another 11 days to go till AF but didnt think it was worth putting a cycle day as i havent been using CBFM and will start as soon as AF arrives, added to this, DH and i were camping with the kids when i was supposedly fertile this month (although opks said no ovulation) so no SWI'ing around that time, so im pretty sure unless there there is a miracle that i cant be pg this month, will go all out next month though

Lychees · 15/07/2010 13:37

I thought and wished that whe I got back here I would see that the graduate list had grown .

Been offline for a while due to house move. Mad hectic, boxes everywhere, can't find a thing ... the usual.

I still don't have internet at home so I am on at work in my lunch hour.

Welcome RosiePosey.

Good news on the tests, vnewmummy and Starlet.

Well done on the weight loss, Keziah.

Hope these two/three weeks go fats for you, Boba so that you will have that appointment date in no time.

Hello everyone else who I have not name checked. Hope you are all well.

boba82 · 15/07/2010 14:39

Hi Lychees, god don't you at all in moving, it's so stressful isn't it? Hopefully the new house is worth it?

Got a phonecall from clinic today saying they had a cancellation so we've got an appointment on Wed 28th July!

Morning All.

Fantastic news on your appointment, Boba. That's less than two weeks away!

Slowly unpacking at home but hoping to get a whole load done this weekend. Although my new wardrobes [to replace my rickety cheap Ikea ones] do not arrive for another two weeks so we have to live out of bin bags for a bit longer [how glamorous!?!]

Nothing to report on ttc front although feel exactly the same as previous months so not holding out much hope.

Since vnewmummy reported how quickly she got her tests done by going private, me and DH have been giving it some serious thought. We just need to get on an even keel money-wise and then see what we can afford.

vnewmummy · 16/07/2010 15:34

Girls - it was the best thing I have done going private and I also use NHS for some things like blood tests and a couple of scans to keep cost down. Time is not on my side due to age so we didnt really have much choice.

I am now on my 2WW and as this is my last month of trying I am trying not to think about it all the time!

At work so had better get off this and catch up later!

xx

bessie26 · 16/07/2010 21:02

hi,

apologies for butting in like this, but I have a terribly rude question to ask vnewmummy ... how much (ish) do the fertility tests etc cost private?
We've been TTC #2 for over a year now & have had 2 MC. I've been bugging my new Dr for tests as I really don't want to wait another year to have another MC as I will then be pushing 39. She has said she will try to get me referred, but warned me that as I've got pg twice recently, they are likely to refuse. So I'm thinking that perhaps I should just go private NOW rather than waiting months for the NHS to refuse me...

for those who were asking about charting, i find it really useful. (although my CBFM tells me my body is gearing up to O, only my temps & CM will tell me if it's actually happened) - do come over to the charting thread and quiz us about it!

vnewmummy · 16/07/2010 21:38

Bessie I dont mind at all - approx £1200 to have all checks, scans etc carried out. I found out in just 1 month how both mine and my DH fertility was.

Mad thing is that were both ok, everything looks good but its just not happening. They sem to think it will!

It is highly unlikely that NHS will help as I was told if you are over age 35 you nearly almost turned down. (I must add as I dont want to upset anyone that that is my own personal experience)

Lychees glad your move went well hon.

Boba great news on your apt, what will they be doing? How is the accupunture going? Im off for my first session next Thursday.

Have a great weekend everyone xx

bessie26 · 16/07/2010 21:47

many thanks vnewmummy - I think I may just have to go for it... I hid some money away about 8 years ago (when I was single) to put towards IVF should I need it, so perhaps now is the time to dip into it...

vnewmummy Good luck for the 2WW I have everything crossed for you.

Hope you have a lovely weekend everyone .

rosieposey · 17/07/2010 17:45

Hello ladies, hope you are all doing ok,

Had a rubbish start to my day today, got a letter in the post from crappy estate agent that we let go after 8 months of not marketing our house properly and never getting in touch. When we went with them they did a HIP pack and didnt say anything about having to pay for it, naturally we assumed that given that we had kept them on for so long and they had been so crap that that would be the end of it when we terminated our contract with them - nope they wrote to us demanding £500 this morning, which is rubbish as we are so broke at the moment. Then opened another letter and its from the Welsh police saying i had been caught speeding in an average speed camera area on the motorway FGS i never speed - clean licence for 16 years! Must have been not far over the 50 mph anyway thats a worry as im not sure how much the fine will be - gah bloody bad luck comes in threes though so im shitting myself about Monday!

On a better note though i have had a weird one today, last month i didnt think i ovulated and tested with opk's up until day 19 as ive never ever gone past day 16 i thought this month was a no show for ovulation as well however this morning (day 23!) i had some ecwm and did a quick test and sure enough CB opk digi gave me a .

My cycle must be all over the place and im going to need all 20 of those (and possibly more) CBFM sticks that i bought to go with my CBFM. I dont know whats going on, have had a bit of stress recently but i have never ever had ov this late before and i can only think that this is what happened last month as my cycle length was 33 days long - now i am worried that if i am starting to ov this late in my cycle that my luetal phase will be way too short

Anyway, did the neccesary this morning after the so you never know, but im not worried anyway as will be starting to use the CBFM as of day 1 next cycle and if that doesnt help me to concieve nothing will.

I didnt post my CD as i thought that i had not ov'ed this month (and im not starting the fertility monitor till next cycle) but as it seems i might have today (or tomorrow) ill add my cycle day to the stats. Phew! sorry about the essay, it does help to have a moan though

Oh no Rosieposey what a rubbish start to the day for you! On the brighter side though at least you've Ov-ed and got busy at the right time

I'm on my 2nd Peak day today, which I'm pleased about, but had a bit of brown-ish blood yesterday which I've never had before. Does anyone know what this could be? Thought it could possibly be a sign of ovulation? Although was Peak Day1, and I assumed the 2nd Peak Day was more likely to be when ovulation happened (but what do I know?!)

hello to everyone

Sorry about your bad day, Rosieposey.

I'm having a lazy day today. I can't be bothered with more unpacking and DIY. I've lost all motivation today and just want to veg out.

Work is going to get really busy in the next few months with people on holidays and I have used much of my holiday allowance on sorting out house stuff . And I only have a few days left which I am saving for Christmas. The thought of the next few months with no days off is yuck!

I'm hoping to be cheered up with some good news on the ttc front. That will put me in a good mood, no end.

Hope everyone else is okay today.

Harry2007 · 18/07/2010 18:38

Good afternoon,

Hi to all who remember me from Feb/March time and also to those who have joined the thread in my absence [harry waves hello to everyone]

So I'm back after my ectopic at Easter time (I also list my left Fallopian tube). We're trying again! Woohoo . We've actually been trying for the last two months, but no luck as yet. I think I was expecting it to happen really quickly because for those of you who remember, it happened on the first attempt last time!!! Anyway, I can only conceive every other month given that I only have one tube and I don't actually know which month is actually the right month to be trying - if that made any sense at all!

I'm on the third cycle using the CBFM since the ectopic and for the last two cycles, I've gone straight from low to peak. This is the first month that I e had high readings so fingers crossed that's a good sign.

I'd love to rejoin the statslist so would be grateful if someone could add me:

Harry2007, TTC#2, Cycle 3, CBFM cycle 3, age 28, ucl 29-31, cd10

I have been lurking since I left so am totally up to speed with the thread - looking forward to being a part of the madness again!

Hi Harry welcome back. I remember you hon x

Hi Everybody

Welcome (back) Harry - I have reposted the stats and added you in hun! So sorry to hear about your ectopic my love. I hope this next month is fruitful for you. Fingers crossed.

Rosie What a shit day you had yesterday!! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully your BDing made up for it . Fingers crossed for you.

Lychees I don't blame you....have a day off

Well the monitor is asking me to test again. It started on day 8 this month, still at lows at the mo.

Does anyone on here chart with Fertility Friend? I have been charting my temp along with using the CBFM for the past few days. Just wondered if anyone took any notice of the 'Forcasted' OV days?? ATM fertility friend is saying that today and the next few days should be high days, obviously the monitor doesn't mirror this!?!?

Keziahhopes · 19/07/2010 01:01

Harry - I remember you - waves, sorry about ectopic, but great you ttc again, hope not too long for you.

Lychees - hope unpacking, cleaning, sorting going well - I remember moving all too well!!

Boba - let us know how it goes when you had your 1st apt.

I am annoyed, as lost another month ttc ... due to being poorly (ok, was taken my ambulance to hospital as out of hours nurse spotted what the dr the day before didn't, eek, which was I was tachy and septic due to tonsillitis - so 4 days in hospital, 4 canulas and lots of needles, I am now home), and missing fertile time of cycle. Bless dh for bringing in my monitor to hospital with hope .

Tomorrow I have laser surgery on bowel to get rid of adenoma that they couldn't remove in colonoscopy in spring, as biopsy results not great (cells begun changing already although small adenoma), so lack of food plus side effects of meds to take before op rule out today and op rules out tomorrow. Month gone!!

Agree - we need a bfp that sticks here!!

Missyraines · 19/07/2010 07:58

Keziah - it looks like you've been having a tough time of it. Hope you get better soon.

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

I go away for ten more days today. Boo. But it's approaching my usual cycle length. Reckon it'll be another 36 as I peaked 17&18 again. I'm determined I won't test until at least 40 days - not getting my heart broken again this cycle!

I won't be online until Wed 28th but will update then.

I've done the stats (sorry for never doing it before) and BTW I'm on cycle 4 not 3 so I've updated that too.

Hi everyone,

Welcome back Harry! Regarding one of the things you told about the ovulation, I remember reading somewhere in a National Geographic program that if you loose one of the ovaries, the other one will replace it completely and you will start ovulating every month from it, which makes sense for me and is probably worth checking with your doctor.

Starlet22 · 19/07/2010 08:59

Morning everyone,

Hi Harry and sorry to hear about your loss. One of my friends has one ovary - they removed one when she was PG with number 1 due to a large cyst growing on it. Anyway, she went on to have three children (and her mum had a similar issue and had four children) so hope that gives you a boost!

Keziah - sorry to hear you've had such a tough time recently. Hope the surgery goes well tomorrow.

Rosie - hope you're feeling more positive/upbeat about things today.

Hi to everyone else.

Not much to report my end, other than hopefully booking a holiday for October (our belated summer holiday). Can't wait.....

Keziah you've really had a shitty time of it recently hun, hope everything goes well for you. x

Hi to everyone else. God I am absolutely knackered today, have no motivation whatsoever.

OP posts:
chocciechip · 19/07/2010 13:13

Hi everyone

keziah You poor thing, you are having a horrible horrible time! I'm so sorry.

boba That's good news about your appointment. We've possibly got one sometime in September on the NHS. If we pay we can maybe get on at the end of August at a clinic alongside the NHS , or if we go totally private we could probably get one next week. Thing is, IVF totally private costs nearly £1,500 more than the paying clinic option ..... seems a no brainer. EXCEPT, I've no idea yet what the waiting lists will be like. I bet there's a sting in the tail somewhere.

storm I was really hoping the BFP would be me this month ... but its not, my temps are dropping right on schedule . How is the charting going? Don't get hung up on single temps - its the biphasic overall pattern that counts.

lychees Have you finished unpacking yet? House moving is a nightmare!

starlet I still haven't got my test results. I know ... pathetic. I will try go this afternoon. I was really hoping for a BFP so even if they were bad they would feel irrelevant, but I guess I'm going to have to face up to it no matter what. Wish I could go on holiday and just avoid them totally.

storm a whole bunch of us chart on FF. Come join the charters thread if you want to pour over charts, discuss ewcm, what your cervix is doing, and the nitty gritty details of FF . No such thing as TMI over there!

rosie What a crap day you had. Monday is here - hope it hasn't been as bad as you feared. You usually do have to use a lot of sticks the first time you use the monitor, and then after that it asks for fewer each month.

Hi pinkcustard

harry I remember you too. I've name changed since then - I used to be shaggy. Welcome back.

choccie I was told by GP 9 month wait to see consultant then got letter from hospital saying maximum 12 week wait list. Think most of UK are trying to have no longer than 18 week wait to see specialist. Suppose there could be a wait once you're seen though? Seems a waste to pay if you're only going to get seen a couple of weeks earlier. Maybe wait and get NHS appt first then if too slow pay to go private then.

Be brave and phone for your results today hun. I'll virtual hold your hand

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all doing well...

Keziah I hope things start getting better for you soon. Good luck with the Op hun XX

chocciechip I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to charting, I know what I'm looking for but I don't know what it all means!!! Uuuurgh!! Thanks for the advice I'll certainly hop on over the the Charters thread and hurl question after question at them - I do ask alot of questions LOL!!

CD10 for me today (got my CD wrong when I posted yesterday! der) still lows on the monitor - I'm presuming this is correct as I started getting highs on CD10 last month!! I've just put this down to the monitor getting used to me and becoming able to pin point OV based on more refined hormone levels!?!? Would I be right in thinking this? (sorry another question )

I feel really anxious today, its not like me and all I can think to put it down to would be that DP is currently waiting to hear back from a Job interview. Oh I do hope he gets at least a trial, he's self-employed ATM and work is speradic which obviously puts alot of pressure on us financially and now that we're TTC, he/we could really do with the relief and stability of a full time Job. I can't even eat my lunch I feel so sick!! Finger Crossed eh!

xx

Anyone had any experience of fertility clinic? I want to know what to expect from our appointment and also any ideas for what kind of questions to ask. Starting to feel a wee bit nervous . . .
