I'm one day late for AF, and don't really have usual PMT symptoms.
Thought I would do a test at lunch, and got a faint positive...I am now deperate to go and get another!!!.
Could It be correct even though it's faint???
Don't want to get my hopes up if it is possible to get false positives????
Anybody any advise please.

A positive is a possitive.

Congratulations!

If you want to do another test, do it first thing in the morning when your urine is stronger - the line may be a little darker then.

Ovulation predictor whatsits are notoriously unreliable.

Home pregnancy tests are notoriously reliable.

You are pg.

nannyl · 10/05/2010 15:34

ljg - I know others have pretty much answered this one but just wanted to add mine too - it defo sounds like you are pregnant. last oct i thought i was pregnant, went out and bought a 2 pack of sainsburys hpt, both came up with very faint pink lines - both dp and I didn't think it was a positive at first but after checking the trusty internet, it appears that yes a faint line, is indeed a line! (I think its something to do with hormones as to why sometimes the line shows clearer). So went out the next day and bought a clearblue hpt and it came up positive straight away, I am now sitting here with less than 8 weeks to go until DC2 is due!

Fingers are crossed for you!

ljg72 · 10/05/2010 16:50

Thank you babywalks! going to get a digital test later from boots and do it in the morning!...good luck with the birth of DC2!

Exciting!!

babywalks · 10/05/2010 19:27

thanks ljg! good luck to you for the test tomorrow morning (you have a lot of will power if you manage to wait until then haha!)

ljg72 · 11/05/2010 02:21

Well...I couldn't wait till a sensible time at all!!! woke up at 2am bursting for loo, so thought ok do it!!!
Got a BFP!!! it says conception was 2 weeks ago...no chance of me going back to sleep now.
Clearblue digital at least gives you a answer either way! even if it is the longest three minutes ever!!!

babywalks · 11/05/2010 09:39

haha, you done well waiting that long!

congratulations! hope you managed to get a bit of sleep after that!

ljg72 · 11/05/2010 09:57

Ha Ha, how rubbish am I??? and nope, been wide awake since then...
Clearblue digital is really good though! no faint pink lines...

Yeah but it costs approximately £300 for a cb digi and 1p for a batch of 100 cheap tests. Summat like that.

babywalks, the clarity of the line is nothing to do with hormones or the strength/viability/multiplicity of the pregnancy. It is everything to do with the limitations of the test and not just across brands but from one test to another in a multibuy.

When testing a line is a line is a line.

EnchantedWithGordon · 11/05/2010 11:40

Congratulations

Well sorry to say my sticky bean left over the weekend, and was confirmed today on a scan...I was only 6 weeks, but totally fell in love with the idea of being a mum again.
all the hopes and plans, for what could have been gone over night.

I have to think that it wasn't meant to be...
so planning large glass of rose, and lighting a lantern to say goodbye to my little bean... X
