Hi there, I've been lurking and reading bits for a while but haven't posted very much yet. Everyone seems so supportive and lovely though that I've made the decision to jump in at the deep end and ask what is probably a very stupid question...

My husband and I started TTC 9 days ago, as far as I could tell at exactly the right time of the cycle to conceive. Obviously I haven't yet had a period to miss but I've been feeling really odd since about Wednesday (5 days after the first time without any...!) and have felt nauseous almost every day since then. Is it far, far too early for me to be thinking 'Oh my goodness it's morning sickness!'?! (I don't have flu, food poisoning or any other reason to feel sick!) I wouldn't have thought any symptoms could appear this early but am I wrong?

Thank you for reading - and please forgive my stupidity/naivety when it comes to these things. I'm sure after a few weeks on these boards I'll be fully up to speed!

hi, its not a daft question at all, its not impossible to feel like that if you have been caught preg so quickly, when i conceived dd it was 1st month trying and i felt extremely tired, nausea, sore boobs a few days after ovulation. fingers crossed for u,

Thanks for replying so quickly - my husband has always joked that he'd only need to wink at me and I'd be pregnant (he has a very high opinion of his little swimmers, clearly!!) but I just can't let myself believe it might actually happen first time round...I'm so excited, I really want to do a pregnancy test but am trying to hold off until next week. I've got nausea, sore boobs, am really sensitive to smells...and countless other symptoms that are probably in my head but are nonetheless soooo exciting!

men always think like that it makes them fell more macho , it is exciting, i knew i was preg with dd though as i'd never felt that bad way b4,
when is your next period due?

Pippaandpolly · 02/05/2010 22:49

Friday-ish, though I'm never bang on regular - usually my cycle is between 28 and 32 days...I reckon (with admittedly not a lot of certainty) I am 8DPO and my symptoms spotted are:

nausea
sore boobs
sensitive to smells
needing to pee a lot
random dizziness? don't know if this is a normal symptom
mood swings (could easily be PMT though)

My husband is so calm and relaxed about it all; I am not! Can I ask how long your nausea lasted into your pregnancy? I've had a couple of days of feeling like I'm going to throw up - the idea of actually being ill for 9 months is pretty horrible! (Though worth it in the end, obviously )

yeah they were all the symptoms i had, i had nausea and sickness til 15 weeks then the nausea came back at 20weeks til the end but was only sick occasionally, i found it easier if i ate a banana about 10-15mins b4 i got out of bed i wasn't 2 bad them days,
alternately if you came off birth control pills just b4 ttc the symptoms could also be your bodys way of getting back to normal,

hopefully its worked for u 1st time .

Not this time Turns out all my symptoms were also symptoms of weaning of Citalopram. Here's to next month...

Sorry it wasn't your month Pippandpolly.

I am in the same situation you were in - on day 32 of an irregular cycle, no AF yet. Only been trying since day 20. I think I have many of the same symptoms you have (apart form the sore boobs!)but have had 3 negative tests. I have moments where I think its all in my head and other moments when I mentally slap myself and remind myself that I have had 3 BFN!

Lots of luck for next month.

Pippaandpolly · 11/05/2010 14:34

Hi Sloathy, fingers crossed for next month, although you might be pregnant yet - read the below!

Erm...

So I've been bleeding for three days which I assumed was my period, as it was at the right (ish - am always irregular!) time, even though this bleed is very light and my periods are normally heavy.

I felt really odd this morning.

I did a test...faint positive. I did another test. Definite positive.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

But I'm worried that I'm still bleeding...is it normal for an implantation bleed to go on this long? Or should I be panicking?

Oh wow! Keeping everything crossed for you.

My AF arrived today :-( but you never know....
