OK. Have been trying for a baby for two years and well lets just say that the odds are lower (but not impossible) due to DH low sperm count.

Well, AF not due for another 6 days. So what did I do? A PG test just now. Not in the morning and not when I should but just off on the spur of the moment as I'm going for a pee.

Well it's a Clearblue +plus, one of those dumb cross ones and I thought I could see the very (I mean very) faint line. Took it to the HD and he said "yes a really very faint line but not as though you would know it". What!!! "Can you see it or not?" I said. "Well yeah sort of" he says....

Can you imagine these things??? Why did I do it!!! Arhhhh

Hi, been there Sometimes the really sensitive tests can pick up a +ve really early. We were ttc and I got a very faint +ve followed by a -ve the next day and every day after so was an emotional wreck! Didn't stop me doing it again though every month after that. A few months later I had another faint +ve, so faint I could only see it against a white background (and DH couldn't see it at all). Next 2 days it was -ve then on day 4 +ve again! Anyway, the result was a beautiful baby girl who is now 14 weeks old.

I would never tell you not to test too early because if you're like me, you won't be able to wait. Just try not to get too excited until you're still getting a +ve the day after your period is due.

There are cheaper tests for testing addicts than the Clearblue... internet cheap sticks come in packs of 5 or 10 and I find them more accurate and less likely to leave an "evaporation line" (the line that appears after the first half hour).

How exciting... I'll be looking on here every day now to see if it really is +ve

Good Luck!

I've bought the cheap ones from amazon...just so that I can test without breaking the bank. Fortunately I can't get my hands on them till later in the week and so will be 'waiting' to test on the day my AF is due. I'm still a little little bit excited at the thought...holding out in faith

Oh, I'm so sorry

mumtothemountain · 29/04/2010 17:06

I'm sorry too, I know how heartbroken I felt each time that happened to me. All that despair, tied in with the usual hormones at that time of the month.

I wondered if you were using a fertility chart? Please feel free to tell me to mind my own business, but I used www.fertilityfriend.com with temp taking and ovulation sticks (look just like the cheap on line preg tests) and found it really useful to give me an idea when I was ovulating etc.

I remember what an emotional rollercoaster ride it was ttc so just want to say hang in there and don't give up!

BessieBoots · 29/04/2010 19:42

I've been there too- It's very lonely. Am thinking of you reflection

On a more positive note, don't give up hope- I am this second having sleeves pulled by one DS and llistening to the other DS jabber away in the next room- These are the children I never thought would come...

Thank you for your kind words. I've bought a clearblue fertility monitor and started it today. It'll be good to have a routine to follow and know that I'm being pro-active. I've an appt at the Hospital in a couple of weeks and so it'll be good to find out if all is well with me. However it's a little worrying that they want to push us forward for IVF so fast just because I'm 34. They haven't even suggested that anyone should take a look at DH!! He's had two SA come back very low in all areas....doesn't make sense to me not to look into why.

So. we've booked an appt at the Zita West clinic to get some advise...I hope that we're doing the right thing. The whole thing is a worry and we don't have money to throw away.

Thank you again for your responses. It's nice to tell someone about it..
