Ovulation after Early Miscarriage

Hello,

This might be a really stupid question, but I had a very early m/c (5 wks) last Friday . The bleeding has tailed off now but I woke up this morning with quite sharp cramps in my abdomen. Is it possible I could be ovulating already?

The knowledgable ladies on MN (on another thread I was on) said I should count last Friday as Day 1 of my cycle which I did but that would only make today Day 7 which is too early for ovulation isnt it?

Just to confuse me even more, if I hadnt been pregnant and got my period on the normal day (Sat 3rd April) then I think I would be ovulating around now. This is surely irrelevant now though isnt it?

I am keen to start trying right away (rightly or wrongly) and dont want to miss the boat this month!

Maybe these pains are normal after a m/c, I am not sure.....

Arrrggghhhh!

Has anyone else had this?

Thank you

Sorry to hear about your m/c. I think they're right about counting last Friday as day 1.

After I had mine (at 9 weeks) I noticed lots of twinges and aches through the whole cycle until I got my period quite a bit later than normal. I was temping at the time and my chart was all over the place, which is unusual for me, so I figured it was just my hormones settling down. I wonder if it's the same for you? FWIW, I think that cycle was annovulatory, but I know that's not always the case. There's no harm in starting to try again if you feel ready.

Like you I was desperate to start TTCing again and I'm happy to say that it worked the following month. He's having a nap at the moment and we're now trying for number 2.

I really hope it works as quickly for you!

I hear advice is to wait for a cycle or 2 to start ttc again.
But a friend said they tried imediately and fell, aparently your v fertile at this time.

So if your emotionally ready..........

Hi,

Thanks so much - I think this whole thing (and even since we've been trying) makes you so much more aware of any twinge in your body doesnt it!

Good luck

Hi walkonby,

I was woundering the samething myself.

As i said on the other thread i had a early MC too waiting for period to arrive but its a no show!! Dont have a clue when im going to ovulate now or how long my cycle should be to test

aubergenie · 16/04/2010 21:05

I was told initially by the doc to wait for 3 cycles before TTC again. I got quite upset by this as I was 40 and already felt like I'd just lost my last chance. So she then said I should just wait for my period to come and then start. I think they like you to do that so it's easier for them to date the pregnancy. I figured that if my body wasn't ready I wouldn't get pregnant.

The advice given seems to vary depending on who you talk to. I think for an early MC it should be OK to start TTCing straight away.

WalkOnBy so sorry to hear about your loss, I'm in exactly the same position as you. I had a 5 week M/C a month ago and based on that AF should have been due yesterday - no sign, no symptoms!!

Emotionally we were happy to try again immediately as it was very early days, but am desperate for my body to get back on track.
I havent been using OPKs this month so have no idea when/if I ovulated, but have been trying round about when I should have been - just in case. Like legscrossed said, I have read loads that you are extra fertile after a M/C, so you never know......

This has been the longest 4 weeks ever!

Good luck x

babylove2 · 17/04/2010 15:56

Hi *ifatfirstyoudontsucceed) i also had a early MC a month ago and i agree its the longest month ever.

We are waiting to have 1 period then start trying, my period is late was due on so i dont have a clue whats going on at the monet. really want it to come so we cant start trying.

Good luck to you all.

xx

When i had my m/c i fell pregnant the same month again without a period,as soon as the bleeding stopped i tryed again. He is 8 months old now.

So go for it if you feel ready, good luck!!!.

I am 40 and recently m/c at 7/8 weeks. At hospital, they just said to wait till you'd had a period to start trying, for dating. I didn't wait but don't think I ov that cycle anyway. In the next cycle now.
I had period type pains for the whole time before my next period came. On the leaflet from hospital, it said your nexy period would more likely be late and heavy.
Lots of love, Daisy xx

Well, AF arrived on Friday Saturday (only a day late) which I'm pleased about - at least I know I'm back to normal.
