TTC and testicular cancer

Hi,

We are just going to really start trying for DC2. We already have DD age 4. DH was diagnosed when DD was 7 months old. DH received radiotherapy not chemo. He has just tested clear in his latest tests.

Was just wondering if anyone has any experiance of this? The medical info says it should't affect fertility.

Has your hubby had a testicle removed? It might be worth getting a sperm count done just to check - the radiotherapy itself is not thought to cause any problems as they shield the scrotal area, but the illness itself and the surgery may have affected his semen. Sometimes men develop antibodies to their sperm following testicular cancer. I'd get it checked. I have known a few guys with this problem who have conceived naturally, but also some who have had to have help.

Thanks for your replies. Yeah he had a testicle removed. As I said we have not really even started TTC just wanted to hear if anyone had any info. Probably just looking for some reassurance.

Thanks again.

Hi,

My DH had it around 7 years ago, had a testicle removed and then radiotherapy. We concieved pretty much first month with both DC a couple of years after when TTC.

(Not boasting, just didnt affect fertility with us)

Hope it all works out with you.
