I'm a complete newbie at this so I'll apologise now!

I'm 27 (hubby is 33) been off the pill for 4years and no baby. So we sought help from our GP. Been seen by consultant and given Clomid.

Started meds on day 2 (20th March)and since had all symptoms under the sun (ovarian pains, mood swings, insomnia, nausea, loose bowels, 'down there' dryness etc etc etc). Went for ultrasound scan yesterday (day 10) but nothing showing.
Trying another scan on Thursday (day 13) in the hope something may have stirred but feeling utterly hopeless at the moment.

Don?t have any girl friends that know what we are going through so feeling really lonely.

Would love advice on whether my symptoms are familiar to anyone else.

And in general some support....

Thanks xXx

I have nothing helpful to say as have not been in your position but can't ignore your feeling utterly hopeless!

Maybe this bump will draw out someone with some good advice.

This is a great place for support if you don't feel you want to share this with friends at the moment, keep asking. x

I'm with you - and on cycle 3 of clomid. I've had all the symptoms too (I've added a dose of hot flashes too) and am finding it really, really hard to deal with physically. It's such powerful stuff - and I didn't appreciate it before I started the course.

I haven't had any monitoring so don't actually know if it's working which also feels rather hopeless.

If I can offer you a glimmer of hope, it does get a little easier to tolerate. This month hasn't been as hard as the last 2 and I'm on CD34 and an unheard of 15DPO. I am hoping, hoping, hoping that the clomid has worked this month .

TT - I can totally sympathise. Clomid really does mess with you physically (something which I wasn't really prepared for at first). I had all sorts of symptoms - ranging from feeling incredibly bloated and having heartburn to having incredibly sore boobs. All pregnancy symptoms, which really messed with my head, as I'd convince myself each month that I might be pregnant...

The silver lining is that I've just found out I'm pregnant! 4 cycles of Clomid (and probably about half a stone heavier - another side effect!) but I wanted just to post this to say that it can work.

You're doing totally the right thing having scans, as that will really help you pinpoint when you're ovulating. I ended up having to go privately to have the follicle tracking scans done, as my local NHS service wouldn't provide them. I think that the scans really did the trick, as you can see what's actually going on with your body.

Best of luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xxxxxxxx

Thank you all so much for your kind messages back. Really helped.

Daisy and MooMoo, glad I'm not the only one to have has symptoms, and the thought that they get better/I'll get used to them really helps. MooMoo - congrats!!! There is hope for us all.
Daisy what does 'I'm on CD34 and an unheard of 15DPO' mean??? I'm sure its simple but I just can work it out!!!! Thanks!

I went back for second scan yesterday and no change ...... which means the meds (at the current dose) has not worked. Blood test next week on day 21 and if still no joy I shall increase next cycle to 100mg.

Very miffed but I'm trying to stay positive. Esp as I'm going to a fellow WAGS babyshower tonight....really not in the mood to celebrate but I must.

Thanks again,

Oh and Happy Easter

xXx
