Why are you supposed to do a pg test using your morning pee?

Anyone?

Is it because you've "saved it up" for a few hours, or does something more cunning happen while you sleep?

(Before anyone leaps to conclusions, this is for future ref, we aren't strictly speaking trying yet...)

I think that your wee (and all the chemicals in it) are more concentrated as you have had nothing to drink overnight to dilute your urine. So, if the pregnancy hormones are present they should be in greater concentration first thing making your test more accurate.

I think it's because the hormones are more concentrated in first-of-the-morning pee. But to be honest, tests are so sensitive these days I'm not sure it matters any more.

Thanks both

Works fine at other times, though. Both my positive tests were half-way through the afternoon.
