Been TTC for over a year and can't help thinking that there's something wrong. My period is always really long - between 10 - 13 days or more. That's not normal - or is it? It doesn't become heavy until day 10.

If you have been ttc for over a year it is worth visiting the GP now.

Have your periods always been this heavy?. I ask this as sometimes fibroids can cause heavy and prolonged bleeding.

If your periods are very heavy or painful this is yet another good reason for visiting the GP. You should be referred to a gynae at a subfertility unit.

Hello Meerkat - sorry for not replying before now - I forgot I posted this this morning!
My periods went through a stage of being heavy/ prolonged a few years ago and I had some tests then, which didn't find anything. DH and I are going to doctor if nothing happens within the next month or two.

Tigerbear, Mine is just finishing after 12 days. No idea if it indicates anything wrong, though. I'm also not yet pregnant.
