Help with Day 21 progesterone levels

Hi,
Post an ovarian drilling surgery in the end of Jan, 2010, my specialist had me test for Day 21 progesterone levels to check if I have ovulated.
My progesterone level on Day 20 when I tested was 0.3 when my specialist said anything above 30 indicates ovulation.
I am a bit anxious about the really low level of progesterone -- it's almost nil. Anybody else face low levels of progesterone? What does this really mean?

Do you have a regular cycle? I was tested on day 22 and my progesterone levels were 0.8. I was referred to the fertility clinic, they sent me for more progesterone tests, I was tested on day 29 and my levels were still below 1. The next month I tested positive and I am now 37 weeks pregnant.

My sil also had progesterone level readings of below 1 and she is now 12 weeks pregnant.

I am no expert but I think that if you have irregular cycles you can ovulate much later than expected which will give you a low reading if you test on day 21 and some months you may not ovulate at all.

Hi there, I have progesterone levels of 8 at day 21, as you say this is low.

It was recommended that i take Clomid as there is no way that i can ovulte with levels as low as this.

i didnt start the Clomid.

However, i have been pregnant 3 times in the last 2 years so i believe that you amy not ovulate one month then maybe the next you will. Its a bit hit and miss isnt it.

Hi, I was told to test 7 days past ovulation by my gp and now again at the fertility clinic, so have been monitoring when ovulate so test on right day, which may not be day 21 if longer cycle.

My reading was quite low, hence new test again at later date.

Thank you all for your responses. Post the OD procedure I have 28 day cycles. I am on day 2 today and have started Clomid as per my specialist's advice - - so it does seem like I didn't ovulate this last cycle given the low progesterone levels and my periods showing up.

Prior to the OD procedure I did have irregular cycles which is what got me diagnosed as PCO and hence the OD procedure.

I wish you the very best with your pregnancy and hope I get pregnant too.
