Argh, to try or not to try next month (Christmas baby)?

Ok, so what are others planning to do??

My DD was born on 21st Dec, so already have one nearly Christmas baby.

Now have been TTC since January (so 3 unsuccessful months so far) and next month would give me a due date of 24th Dec if I got preggo.

Really don't want to waste any chances as know so many people who took ages to get pregnant second time around. At the same time, not sure about the whole Christmas baby thing AGAIN!!!

Thoughts all welcome!

i have to say, i wouldn't. then again, i remember that desperate desire for a abby, so maybe if i was at that stage again i'd just go for it.

but no, the sensible bit of me says no, 2 birthdays and christmas is just crazy!

If I wanted 1 that badly and was worried about 'missing' a month then I wouldn't care (also got a Dec baby)

CanNeverDecide · 20/03/2010 20:47

I know, it's such a hard one.

Would be gutted if still didn't get pregnant for month afterwards as would always wonder if it could have been the month for us.

At the same time, sod's law says it will be this month and we end up with the craziest Decembers around.

My head hurts!

Oh, go on. Just do it

Were you early or overdue with your 1st?

CanNeverDecide · 20/03/2010 20:57

I was 9 days overdue with my 1st.

Wouldn't be so bothered if hadn't already been TTC for 3 months. I know it's not long, but last time only took 2 cycles so sort of feel like it's just not happening for us for some reason and I suppose worrying about how long it might take.

When's your baby's birthday in December, notnowbernard?

15th

1 week late

And 2nd was 11 days late

So you may even have a January baby, you know...

nellie12 · 20/03/2010 21:06

wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise there will never be a good time to have a baby in winter.

January and November babies suffer too. As its so close to Christmas they have a long wait for presents and parties the rest of the year Not to mention that if you're unfortunate enough to be born in January everyone is skint and/partied out.

CanNeverDecide · 20/03/2010 21:06

Hmmm, that's a good point.

Will have a bit more of a think about it!!

Maybe will try in a 'relaxed' way, rather than a charting/opk/ewcm kind of way.

Sod's law still says I end up with another December baby unless I abstain completely!

Just do it!

Id say dont worry to much about it if your desperate to conceive tbh. 3 months trying is really not that long at all, most women conceive within a year. I came off the implant last march and conceived in october relax and go with the flow

CanNeverDecide - SNAP!

DS born 18th December. We started TCC for second child in Jan like you and 3 months now passed. I've also been pondering, at length, whether I should stop trying for a month to avoid 2 xmas birthdays.

We got pregnant first time with DS so 3 months already seems like quite a long time and not sure I want to go to 4 months without good reason.

Am leaning towards throwing caution to the wind. If it doesn't happen next month I can think, 'well, didn't want it anyway'.

mrspooh · 12/04/2010 21:17

i have ds1 dec 16th and ds2 dec 5th. go for it, it is fine. less thsn a yr between too. lots of pressies at xmas but thats fine
