Hi everybody,
I just wanted to chat to anybody who has recently ovulated and is now having to wait to find out if they are expecting or not.
This is my first month ttc since i lost my first son who was stillborn in may.
I am desperate to be pregnant again, not to replace my little boy,but to be back on that path i was following, and nearly at the end of
I was fertile between last wednesday and sunday just gone,my poor dh has been on demand for nearly two weeks!(bless him!)
We're so ready to do this again,i just hope it doesn't take too long(fingers crossed!)

maddyd · 27/07/2005 17:04

shelly24 · 27/07/2005 17:31

Hi Ladies, I think I tested too early to. BFN. Why oh why can't I stop myself. It's my first month of trying since my mc to, so I'm with you Shelly about not being to down on myself. In fact me and DH are going away with some friends next week so it would mean I could indulge in holiday wine! Still, would rather be pg though. I'm not to far from Heathrow as well Shelly. This time of year it feels like the planes are landing on the roof sometimes.

Have decided to carry on doing up the nursery!
it had only been decorated and a border put up when everything started to go down hill....its been done in two biscuity colours(cos we didn't know we were having a boy)and has a humphreys corner border around the middle.I've also drawn some large pictures of humphrey doing different things around the room(used to decorate childrens rooms for a living )I'm really pleased with it!Have got afew pictures on the wall and some mobiles hanging around, also Rhys' footprints in a frame, and loads of large cuddly toys.Want to start getting furniture though(does that sound weird!?)Really want it to be ready and 'perfect' next time around...we left it alittle too late last time..i had to have a chair in the room when i was drawing the pictures in march(roughly 25/26 weeks preg then,i think?)and i was REALLY struggling,as my bump was so big!!I was carrying like i was 33weeks then, and docs started to test me to see why...i could hardly do anything for longer than a couple of mins without having a sit down! Later found out that it was because Rhys had hydrops(fluid under the skin because of his liver malformation),plus too much amniotic fluid...had to have 2 litres drained off!!(ouch!was very painful!).So i had to stop the decorating then and was really cross with myself that i couldn't do it(before i found out the real reason).
So the last month or so have finished the pictures and now really want to get the furniture and matching bedding etc,dh thinks its ok to get stuff, but i worry that he just doesn't want to say no and upset me!?
We were abit suspicious last time around and didn't even get a pram or anything!!I'd got clothes, blankets, and afew bits for the room but thats all.(feel bad)
This time around the suspition will be going out the window i think!!Life is too short for all that, especially after what we've been through!!

Hiya strike1,pleased to hear your not too hard on yourself either.x
Hopefully when you go away you will have a nice relaxing break and it will take your mind off the whole ttc thing!
When is your Af due?,is it around the same time as all of us?
The more support the merrier,i say!It really helps when you speak to others in the same boat as you, huh!?
Whereabouts near heathrow?,i'm in hillingdon, just down the road from stockley park(if you know where that is),don't get too many planes thankfully, but when explaining where i am in comparison to people up north etc,its the easiest landmark that most people know!
Its a comfort to know where people are sometimes, especially when you experience a loss like we have and you feel like your the only one in the WORLD who is experiencing it!.x

shelly24 · 27/07/2005 18:03

By the way,is it true that you don't ovulate every month!?even though you have a AF every month?

OP posts:
strike1 · 27/07/2005 18:09

Shelly, I'm near Twickenham, so we get take off or landing depending on the wind, but they are fairly high most of the time. I say go for it with the Nursery. Do as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. It sounds lovely, when I need your decorating services I'll let you know!

strike1 · 27/07/2005 18:12

I always thought if you had an af, then you ovulated. I had mild pcos when I was at uni and the doctor said my periods were irregular cause I wasn't ovulating every month. I think it's all sorted now, but if I skip an af I don't always thing pg I worry that maybe I just didn't ov. I'm no expert though.

maddyd · 27/07/2005 18:13

Shelly Dont worry me, where did you hear that piece of info.

Ive just got out of the bath as had bad belly ache and now could fall asleep but have a pile of inputting to do.

I thought we could all go bck over to the ttcing after a miscarriage thread too. I know Chcolatepeanuts on there and i have been since April. Come on Shelly come and join the crew.

P.s you are so brave with the Nursery, i bet little Rhys would want the next baby to have it. And him being a little Angel now will watch over and take care of him or her. Thats what i believe anyway!

shelly24 · 27/07/2005 18:19

It was written on the info sheet i got with the ov testing sticks!??It really confused me too!...am off to find it to quote what it says, hang on.........right,am bk,these are called 'east prediction one step ovulation tests',and it says..'it is important to note that an LH surge and ovulation may not occur in all cycles'..so what does that mean!?(am confused!)

OP posts:
shelly24 · 27/07/2005 18:20

EASY..not east!(soz!)

OP posts:
shelly24 · 27/07/2005 18:24

How do i get to that thread then mads?do i go through the miscarrage/breavement pages?Whats it called?.x

OP posts:
strike1 · 27/07/2005 18:30

I think it means that you might not ovulate every month (although if you don't normally have problems, then you probably do). But you can't have an af unless you've ovulated.

shelly24 · 27/07/2005 18:32

Yeah your right,i think they just have to cover their backs and take into consideration those who,as you say, have irregular AF's.x
The whole ttc lark cna really get to me sometimes!!!

OP posts:
shelly24 · 27/07/2005 18:39

Mads where are ya!!?Are you on the other thread??
Let me know and i'll swap over to there with you and cp.x

OP posts:
strike1 · 27/07/2005 18:45

Shelly, that thread it in conception, just under this one at the moment I think! I'd send you a link, but I'm technically dim, just chatting on this now is fairly advanced for me!

maddyd · 27/07/2005 18:59

Sorry Shelly was working away then. TTcing after a miscarriage thread keep trying. Most of us lost ours earlier than you and Chcolatepeanut but its a great support thread and you know we can all sympathise.
