for example, the ones that claim 10mui - and can get accurate result 7 days post conception, are they reliable.

Is there any point on testing that early?

And... what do we class as conception, the bonking, or later?

Well conception is when the sperm meets the egg I guess, and sperm can live up to 5 days after intercourse, so I guess its later.

The eBay tests worked for me. Although I actually got mine from amazon - 25 for £3 I think. I would reccomend them, especially as Clear Blue and the like are so flipping expensive!

I used some cheapie tests from ebay when trying to conceive last year and they worked for me.

I got a +ve a week before af was due - very faint on the first day but every subsequent day(not that i was obsessing or anything ) it got darker. Got a +ve with a clearblue about 3 days pre af

They were always accurate for me, accurate in telling me I wasn't pregnant that is.....
