Have just had large ovarian cyst removed, via laparascopy. Still have stitches in and bruised abdomen so no way no how is any baby going to be conceived in the next few days...BUT - any ideas on how soon we can try?

Not sure how long before you should begin trying but am bumping incase anyone else does. Can you call the ward where you had it done??

I had 3 laps for endometroisis a few years ago. They are horrid arn't they - I feel for you .

Good luck TTCing - when you do.

Thanks hippychick It is hard to ask the ward as I live in Spain and the system is a bit different here. Wanted to get some more perspectives from the UK side of things as well. Hope someone can reply and help!

PS Thanks also for sympathy re: lap...everyone kept saying that it was not that big of a deal as only keyhole surgery etc - but it has actually been pretty tough..was a week ago tomorrow and I am still quite exhausted and in some pain...

I think it is a big deal. I don't want to scare anyone who is about to have one but I definitely think they're quite painful and not gotten over in 5 minutes.

Give yourself some time to recover.

I can't remember how long I left it before I had sex after my laps. But they probably did put a few impliments up your poor old fandango so it might be a bit tender for a few days.

I recently had a mmc and I had to have a procedure to remove the pregnancy. They said not to have sex until the bleeding had stopped. Which for some people is about a week - so I'm guessing you can have sex a similar time after a lap.

I hope someone comes along who has had a lap more recently or had cysts removed and can give you more definite news.

ps. Lucky you living in Spain.
