Two weeks late but negative test - Why???

Hi all, am a tad upset and confused today as two weeks late tomorrow and have taken a pregnancy test this morning and a definite negative. I can handle not being pregnant (kind of) but its the not knowing and thinking I am pregnant (have felt sick and certain smells are very disgusting to me; tea and coffee esp - both happened with DS)so am feeling a little strange right now. My dh and I tried to get pregnant for a month last year and the same happened then and I had my period three weeks late. I got so distressed that we put off trying and I went back on the pill.
Has anyone had any experience of this?

Hi,

I had same thing happen twice and my consultant said I would of been pregnant and i guess because the eggs were not good quality it never continues. I was 10 days and then 12 days late.

Not sure if that helps xx big hug x

Were still trying.

Just about to consider using clomid and IUI but will wait couple of months.

Good luck - i know its horrible waiting and after 2 weeks you must be a little bit down.

Try not to worry xxx

Hi There,

The same thing just happened to me and I was 7 weeks late before I finally got my AF... I was going a little bit loopy - so I feel your confusion and frustration... I was actually glad when I got it because at least I knew what was going on again!

I spoke to my GP about it and she said that there was absolutely no reason why it should effect things going forward and actually could be a good thing as it means fertilisation probably did happen - which is a good sign that I can get pregnant (I'm trying for my first). I also talked to some people here who didn't get BFPs straight away so there is also the slight chance you still might be pregnant - so I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you...

Thanx Millymoo - it is frustrating. I've said to my DH that at least if I'd got my period I would know where I was but at the moment things are in the air a bit. I guess my Dh is glad a little as we get to keep 'practicing'!!!
