3 days late, lots of BFNs

Hello, I'm new to all of this and a bit confused. This is our 2nd month TTC. I was due on Tuesday, so now I'm 3 days late (when I'm usually 28 days, regular as clockwork). Tested with a digital on Monday (I'm very impatient!) and have just done my 3rd cheapy ebay test this morning- all 4 have been negative. What could be going on? I'm never late and it has me slightly concerned!

There are quite a few reasons why this could be. I know the one you want to hear is that you might be pregnant and you might. You can can false negatives on pregnancy tests and some women take ages to build up enough of the hormone for the tests to be able to work.On the other hand because you want to be pregnant you can become stressed and this can change even the most regular of cycles. Stress can be quite minor things such as travelling or other changes it doesn't have to mean tearing your hair out sort of stress.
I always hated this time of the month when I was TTC.I'm afraid you'll just have to wait unless you get any other symptoms that concern you in which case speak to your GP.

I have a similar issue to you at the moment. I am on day 30 of my cycle (normally my cycle is 26-27 days) and I'm getting negative test results. However, I got a positive test result on day 27 of my cycle - further tests since have been negative. I'm a bit baffled and wondering how much you can rely on these tests. If your period doesn't come soon you could ask your GP for a blood test which is more definitive than a urine test. My GP just did a blood test for me but I have to wait for the results.

Thanks, it's so strange! I'll give it a few more days and maybe go to the doctors next week (and get another one of the digital tests). Work has been soooooooooooooooo stressful over the last couple of weeks, so maybe that is the explanation. Hope you get your BFP MGMidget!

Don't bother with the digital tests. They are no more accurate and cost lots more.

Thanks for the advice soapboxqueen- the lady in the chemist said that same thing- I reckon your advice may have saved me hundreds of pounds if I carry on testing this frequently

Still no AF, but I reckon it could be stress. Time to book a few days off work and chill out a bit I think.....

Stress won't delay your period, but it can delay ovulation, which then makes your period late in turn iyswim. Were you ill or stressed around ovulation?

Decent ebay cheapies are fine. They're the same as what the doc would use but you just have to make sure you're buying from a reputable seller.

This seller is excellent and has sold over 37,000 products. I always use her and tested positive at 6 and 5 days before my period was due with both pregnancies.

How frustrating for you!

I've been quite stressed for a while at work- it comes and goes- I do love my job, it's great fun, but we're coming to the end of 2 projects in the next few weeks and it's tough at the moment!

Now you come to mention it, I did have signs of ovulating around day 24- 10 days late, which I forgot about until now. I expect that's it. I am starting all of the charting stuff this week- which I thought would be simple with my regular cycle! Thank you for the eBay tip.

Just thought I'd update this- AF arrived- pretty relieved as I knew I wasn't pregnant. Think it must have been the stress so I've been trying to leave work on time and I've booked myself in for a day at the spa next weekend!

Hi there. I know your AF has arrived, but I thought I would add that it sometimes does take a long time to amass enough hormones to get a BFP. I got PG in Nov and did 2 tests before I got a BFP on day 37. Good luck next time
