Anyone TTC with thyroid problems?

I wasn't feeling well last year and went to the Dr. After some blood tests, they said that I had thyroid problems - the level was just under that classed as underactive. Because of the symptons and because I would like to have another child, they agreed to give me thyroid medication.

Since then I've had another blood test and the levels are going down but very slowly so the dr doubled the medication. I think they said to be able to get pregnant and sustain a pregnancy, your levels should be between 0-1.

Does anyone else have any experience of TTC with thyroid problems? I'm starting to get down about this as I feel that it has really affected my cycles - they are very long and seem to be different from when I was previously able to get pregnant (no EWCM - in fact I'm not even sure I'm ovulating at all).....

Moan over...would love to have a chat with anyone who's going through the same....

Hi, I don't have thyroid problems, but prolactin level problems (hyperprolactaemia) which mean I have to be at a certain level to ovulate or sustain a pregnancy. Not the same I know. It is good you have a dr prescribing you meds and knowing what level you need - do you know how long the dr said it would take for you to get to 0-1?

I also am awaiting a fertility referral apt just to check everything else is ok, have you asked for that?

Hi Kezia,

Thanks for the reply

Sorry to hear you are also having some problems. Again it's good you know what the issue is and are awaiting some tests

Not sure how long it will take to come down...have to finish my pack of tablets and then they will do another bloodtest to see whats happening I think everything else should be ok...I have 2 dcs already....

Fingers crossed that we both have some good news soon
