Hi! I have a ds 11yrs with ex-partner,but am failing to conceive with new partner.I was 29 when i had my son and am now 40(and a half, yikes). My periods are v regular, every 28 days,I have been using the clear blue ovulation predictors, which seem to indicate i am ovulating, and using Pre-seed stuff...I am going to go and see my GP,but am unsure what exactly i need to ask to be tested for,am concerned he will just give me v basic tests to shut me up..Can anyone advise me.Thanks! Oh partner will be visiting his GP,but that seems more straight forward!

I would be advising you to visit the GP asap to have blood tests done particularly as you are now 40. Tests can also be done to determine the quality of your eggs too as this declines as you age (that needs to be done as a matter of course).

Gynaes generally like to see women over the age of 35 if they have been ttc for six months without success.

Working with two separate GP practices is not feasible really; can your man join your practice. At the very least you should both go together to see the GP.

Good luck, you will need to be persistant in order to get answers.
