Hi every1, my AF has a history of being very unpredictable, but need help working out my cycle length ths month and when I can expect my Af or test ths month..

Well here we go, in Jan, my AF came on the 7th, and in Feb AF started very light on the 6th, which would be 30 day cycle, but it disappeared on 7th, started again light on 8th, and disappeared, started light on the 10th and on 11th it was proper AF, which if going by this date would be a 35 day cycle....so this month what day am I due on du think?

Have done the deed 20th Feb, 24th Feb and 1st March, du think I had a chance of gettn ptegnant these dates? So bloody confused!!

Thanku in advance for any replies!

Hi proudest, i'm no expert but just didn't want you to feel like you were alone. You mentioned that your periods have been unpredictable in the past, was there a reason for this? How much have they varied?

From reading here a lot of people seem to get a couple of days spotting before their period truly arrives and they seem to count the first day of proper bleeding as Day 1. If you are unsure when your fertile times are it might be worth temping or tracking cervical mucus just so that, for your own peace of mind, you know that you are having sex at the right times. It might be useful to see how far into your luteal phase (the phase from ovulation to the arrival of your period) the spotting starts. A luteal phase of 12-16 days is counted as 'normal' I think. Personally I like to know when I have ovulated so that I know when to expect my period as depending how stressed I am at work I ovulate anywhere between day 12 and day 18! Ovulation can move but your luteal phase generally stays the same.

Having said all this, I think in your shoes I would visit my GP for some reassurance as i've only ever spotted for a couple of days before my period and it sounds like you are a bit anxious.

Good luck

Hi, not too knowledgable, but what I have read suggests that you should consider your period as starting when you first see fresh red blood, rather than brown murkiness. Was the spotting/light AF fresh blood or not?

proudestmummyever · 07/03/2010 23:03

It wasn't proper blood I dnt think xx

proudest It depends what your other cycles are like tbh. Do you know what the months before were like? If they are fairly unpredictable in the past, then they probably still will be. I'm currently anywhere between 19 day and 36 day cycles, so have about as much idea as you do! It's frustrating isn't it?

However I'm going by trying from day 10 of my cycle and then just keep going till I seem to be ovulating (I get bad cramps then) Poor DP looks knackered by then too

Well I got AF about 5 this morning, that is a 29 day cycle, aaaahh, so anywhere between 28 and 35 day cycle, a think a will just have to do the deed every 2 days or so , tried for 6 months with my youngest who is 3 nw, and we just did deed maybe every 4 days, and got nowhere, so on 7th month we went for it every day, and yeah, thts when i fell pregnant lol, was covering all my bases
