Hi all,

I'm new here, could i get some advice please?

I miscarried approx 11 days ago, i was approx 5 and a half weeks pregnant.

I have had unprotected sex yesterday and today, and out of interest used a ovulation 'stick' this eve that i had hanging around, it was positive.

Is the reading likely to be accurate so soon after a miscarriage?

Could intercourse today and yesterday result in pregnancy or does the test predict when to start trying?

Help!

xx

Having had three miscarriages I know that the ovulation kits don't work that soon after mc. It will take some time before your cycle returns to normal and your hormones are all over the place at present. Give it till yoour next period then start from there, that's what my GP told me to do.

Good luck btw x

Thanks rosarugosa.

So the ovulation kit could have been a false positive. Is this still the case when I very definately tested negative after the mc? There was no line at all, not even very feint.

The ovulation kits measure FHS as you probably know which is the hormone that stimulates the egg to ripen and therefore be released.

It would show negative after the mc as the hormone is not produced then but HCG will be whichis what gives you a positive test on pregnancy kits.

I hope you are pregnant again so good luck with that but all I can say is that I waited until my next period and although I didn;t fall straight away I did three months ater my mc.
