Hi,

I have been told that A normal luteal phase is approximately 12 - 16 days and needs to be at least 10 days for implantation to take place. A short luteal phase can cause fertility problems making it difficult for a women to get pregnant.

A sort luteal phase can sometimes be caused by stress, illness, medication, heavily increased activity, etc im sure you can take some vitamins to help lenthen your luteal phase. and are you sure yours is 7 days long?

Hope that helps

Have you been monitoring your cervical mucas as well?

xkatyx · 21/02/2010 22:03

maybe you could go to the doctors and they could do blood tests and tell you your exact luteal phase and if its to short reccomend something.

Am sure I'll get corrected but this is cm monitoring as I understand it.

During the month check your discharge. You'll normally get some everyday but it'll appear quite dry. As you approach ovulation you'll feel it becoming wetter. Some people describe it as like wetting themselves. In your underwear you'll probably find mucas.

When not ovulating cm is white/opaque.
When you are it becomes clear and has the appearance of raw egg whites as is very stretchy.

Hope this helps.
I'd probably go and chat to your gp too.

Hiya,
I've been taking 100mg of vitamin B6 per day for 3 months and its lengthened by LP from 8-9 days to 10 days this month, maybe give it a try?

theory · 22/02/2010 13:01

I was diagnosed with a short luteal phase (7-8 days I think it was) and put on progesterone to lengthen it. Conceived DD within 3 months of the progesterone treatment (which continued into first trimester of pregnancy). Might be worth looking into?
