Hello people

I just want some advice really. I have been taking Cerezzette for around 2 years and come off it at the start of january but still now at the end of february - i still havent had a period. I have had all the symptoms of being pregnant but test has come back negative.

Is this normal to wait this long? getting really paranoid now that my periods are never gonna come back and after all the horror stories i have read Im freaking out!!!

Thanks

Hi caz. Sorry to hear you've been so worried.

I don't have personal experience of this (yet!) but have been on Cerazette for nearly 4 years now and am about to come off.

From what I've read, they suggest that in general it takes 2-3 months for your first period, and it may not be properly regular straightaway. So it sounds like everything is normal at the moment, but must be very unnerving.

I've only just found these horror stories and am now shitting myself a bit, because we want to TTC this year.

I feel quite cross that the doctors never mentioned anything about returning fertility when they prescribed this (in fairness, at 20 I didn't think to ask)

Good luck, hope your system settles down soon

I had heard that it takes a while to come back to normal a good few months Well done for lasting so long on it . It sent my hormones up the creek worse than PG tears, laughing, you name it so I gave it up !

Hi again. I was thinking about this some more and remembered I'd read that people often do experience side effects coming off Cerazette that might make you think you're pregnant. See
this thread.

I'm not sure if you've come across Fertility Friend but that gives some short, nicely explained videos to help you understand how your body should work and how to figure out if/when you're ovulating.

Hi when I came off cerazette I didn't have a period for 3 months, it came the first day of my honeymoon . Good news was I got pregnant after one period, as I think your fertility gets a boost when you come off it.

Thanks everyone for your advice - I do agree that my dr should have at least mentioned this when i went onto it.

Hi there. I had no period for nearly three months after coming off the pill. The gynaecologist told me this was pretty standard really, so I wouldn't worry yet. TBH I don't think they advise you to worry until about 6 months. The doctor didn't actually warn me either BTW - I asked about it as I had experienced it previously. It's pretty common I think. I was on Yasmin.

Hi everyone

I had been on the Pill for about 12 years - on Cerazette for the last five or six years. No periods during that time - bliss! Doc said this was completely normal for this particular pill.
Took last pill in Dec as hubby and I are planning TTC this year. Had first period 30 days after taking last pill, on second period now 42 days since last one started.
Have been told that it can take months for periods to return and/or settle after being on the Pill, so I wouldn't worry too much if you haven't had one yet...

Hi again everyone,

I just remembered I posted on here last year! Thought I'd update: my periods did carry on and became as regular as they'd ever been in the past (28/29 day cycle for me).
I took a positive pregnancy test in May last year - got a baby girl due in a couple of weeks time :)

I know there are a lot of negative stories about coming off the pill having been on it long-term, with ladies struggling to conceive, so I just hope this is a nice positive post for anyone worried about coming off Cerazette (or any other pill for that matter).

Good luck ladies
