Help! Have I found my cervix or done myself a mischief?

I went looking for my cervix this morning, having never been able to find it before (I've been told that it's "in a funny place" ). I was expecting a very small dimple like the very tip of the end of my nose, but the only thing I could find was like, well, most of my nose. Does that sound about right? I really wasn't expecting it to be so big (though it has had DD through it, I suppose)! AF is due within the next couple of days. Since then I've had bad AF-style cramps, which usually don't arrive until after she does. Have I prodded too hard and given myself an inadvertent sweep?

i would suggest sitting on your hands and letting your inner nose time to recover from the fiddling.

I am mildly worried though, as I did have some post-partum oddness. If it's not my cervix, I'm wondering what it might be.

i think after a baby it's not so much like the tip of your nose... i can stay a bit open apparently.

i would be surpised if it's not your cervix but for piece of mind, you know what you've gotta do- get thine cervix to a doctor.

Yeah, I'm due a visit to the doctor this week anyway, I just feel a bit odd asking her to have a look up my fanjo for no real reason, and will feel very silly indeed if it is indeed just my cervix!

I'm well versed in where my cervix is and what it feels like as am having to check the strings of my coil regularly.

It's like a mini ring doughnut I guess. Always slightly open, probably a cm I reckon in the middle with the firm ring of what feels like muscle (and probably is) around it. Much bigger than you'd think isn't it?!

It feels enormous! But I can only touch the very tip so hard to get much of an idea of shape etc. If these cramps ever give up, maybe I'll be brave enough to try again tomorrow.

Maybe open later, they are just photos of a cervix on different cycle days to show how it changes. They're fairly fascinating but probably not you want to look at over elevenses with your little brother, unless he's a part time obstetrician I suppose.

I can feel quite crampy if I poke my cervix too hard when looking for my coil threads btw. It's quite sensitive.

I'm looking at the pictures and I'm wondering how on earth she managed to get a camera up there? Not just that though, how on earth she managed to get such good pictures?
