any one help me make sense of the letter i have just received from my consultant.

dp had sperm test in dec 09.

letter says he has a 'slight reduction of sperm count and significant reduction of the normal sperm concentration.'

so the lower sperm count i understand but the reduction of normal sperm con. does that mean the majorlty of sperm that are there are abnormal?

any help would be fab. no good googling it it just says it means a lower sperm count. surley he wouldn't of said that twice in same sentemce??

thanks lucybrad i have rung the ivf clinic we had the tests done through, and my consultants secretary.

clinic say they dont keep results, they go straight to cons.

secreetary said i have to wait for appt. 2 weeks away.

googling seems to say its mmore a quantity that quality problem.

have been pg 4 times in 18 months so ciunt cant be that bad surely?

Suggests that your hubby has a sperm count just below the normal range, but that he has a higher than expected proportion of sperm that are abnormal in appearance. All men have lots of sperm that are abnormal (depending on the type of test a 'normal' result can be anything from 5% to 25% normal.

It may be that your IVF consultant will recommend you try ICSI.

thanks hhunter spoke to ivf clinic and he has low sperm count, low motility and low morphology.

he is devastated.

as i have low protein s levels, the chances of us having a healthy pg are not good.

absolutely gutted.
