After 2 years of trying and four miscarriages later... now doctors have decided to help but I don't know what they plan to do or when. Any advice or help I don't know anyone who's been through what I have. It would be great to talk to someone who understands.This is my first time online doing this too, I bought the book 'Mums on Pregnancy' and found the net site and loveing it.

Hello Everytiger. I don't have this syndrome but one of my very closest friends does. I think there is/was a support group thing so I will ask her and post on here tomorrow. In the meantime, hopefully someone here will know more.

www.verity-pcos.org.uk is a very informative website for women with PCOS. You may want to look at that and seek out publications by Collette Harris (herself a PCOSer).

First thing is - nil desperandum!

I was diagnosed with this in my 20s and was told to expect to have to take Clomid to get pregnant. After worrying how I was going to conceive, when I was finally ready I got pregnant a month after coming off the Pill (age 36) which I thought was a fluke. Then in January, after one bout of unprotected sex have conceived DC2.

I would say:

see if you can go on Metformin (helps with insuliun resistance)

Lose any excess weight and a diet tailored for PCOS sufferers really helps (lots of wholegrains, lots of protein)

Hi OP - I was diagnosed aged 18 when they knew a lot less about it. I remember being told I may have trouble conceiving so went through my twenties kind of assuming I'd never have kids.

At 34, I got pregnant 3 months after coming off pill, 2 weeks before my wedding I m/c. Then conceived DS 6 months later. Had another m/c about 18 months after DS born, then had DD. Didn't have any fertility treatment but did have successful pregnancies when my weight was optimal, so in my exp, diet really helped.
