About 650 per cycle. It was Barts so they do a thing where they charge private patients the same as they charge the PCT. Other hospitals may be a bit more.

madrose · 27/01/2010 17:34

£550 about two years ago in Derby.

ooh that is much better than I expected - that's with stimulation and scanning to check for hyperstimulation? I was expecting answer to be thousands...

Hi Yellow, I'm on my 3rd IUI now and my cost changes every month depending on how many ampules of FSH I need. £610 is the cost of the treatment per cycle (with as many scans as needed) plus £16 per ampule of FSH. So for me it's about £800 to £1000 (I do have more than most ). Hope that helps, good luck.

Sorry to ask question on your thread yellowflowers - but madrose, saw you posted it was in Derby, near me (we thinkin we may have to go private as wait of NHS is not good for me right now) - do you mind saying which hospital you used?

yellowflowers · 28/01/2010 10:33

Hi Vikks - thanks for replying - where are you having it and how are you finding it? Good luck.

No probs at all Keziahhopes - hope you get answers you need.

Yellow - The IUI itself is really quick and painless. Going up to the hospital a lot for scans is very time consuming, I?ve been going 5-6 times per cycle. Thankfully my boss is very understanding and knows what I?m going through. Having the scans and seeing your follicles is very exciting, knowing that you have a real chance of getting PG is brilliant. The down side to the whole process, is how much it messes with my head, the ?rollercoaster? ups and downs seem a lot bigger. As the years tick by I guess that?s bound the happen whatever treatment you?re on. Good luck
BTW I?m having it done at the Bath Fertility Clinic.

Thanks vikks - as I've said on another thread I think I am mostly scared if it doesn't work that that's another option ticked off the list and taking us nearer the never have a baby conclusion. I hadn't thought about what it would be like to see follicles - how exciting. And to know that the sperm are no way going to get lost en route.

in Cardiff it can be up to £1000 but depends as you pay as you go along and if a cycle is abandoned then it's less.
